I applied as FSW under EE and received my PPR from Vienna.
The email is not clear about whether I should send in my passport, or only passport copies. As I am from a visa-exempt country, I thought I'd have to only send copies and the email mentions I will only get COPR, no stamped passport. However, in the rest it always says "send your passport..." and "we will return your passport..." (not copies).

Does anybody know?

Most likely the original passport.
However, you can reply to that email and clarify. Vienna are fast and usually revert within a day or two.
If you want, you can even go in person and collect the COPR.

Thank you very much!
I actually wrote them an email, but got an automated response that said they might take 30 days to respond and won't respond at all if the answer is readily available online... ;)
Hmm, Vienna is a bit far away for me, but good to know... in case of delays that would be an option.

Newest update: 10 days after I've sent my Passport to Vienna, our ECAS status has been changed to Decision Made.

Yes yes, I sure hope so. We are still shocked, but it looks like Vienna is doing their thing!

I have a question StevanK.. have they given you a deadline of when you and your wife have to be in Canada by? Do they do that?

Like once you get PR.. do you have to be in Canada within 2 months or something? Does anyone know?

Hey BrettyMac! YEs they did. We have to enter Canada by September 29th...that's also the date when she did her medical checkup with the panel physician

Do they write the deadline in the PR card?

I have a problem with that. We did our medicals partially on 23rd of February, 2015. I did my x-rays in August, and my husband did additinal blood tests in September, 2015. But, my first born medicals were completed on 23rd February, 2015. We can't enter Canada by 23rd February, 2016 cos we still haven't got our visas. But, my question is, if we want to enter Canada in May,2016, which medicals should be re-done? My first born, for sure, but what about mine and my husband? Do we re-do our medicals partially, part that were done last year in February?

Oh interesting! I wonder if it's actually based on or related to the medical date normally? Thank you for the info! :)

Some people say it is, others say it's not...all in all, I think they give you a decent amount of time to get "ready" . Ur most welcome!

In most likelihood, Visa officer will ask you to redo medicals. But I suggest you check with them.
