I doubt that there will be a big difference. Even before this closure, Vienna was the Visa Office for czech PR applications. Only TRV and work permits were processed in Prague. And since Czech citizens are now allowed to travel without a visa, the closure was a logical step.oszi said:http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/missions/prague.asp
They will process already submitted applications in Prague, but new ones will go to Vienna from now on... I hope that means a higher yearly quota for Vienna from 2014, or backlog will further increase.
Not necessarily. CIC still has approved doctors in countries without Visa Offices, e.g. Germany. Even after the closure of the VO in Berlin, nothing changed regarding the list of approved doctors.Movado said:I'm afraid with this step the only "approved by CIC" medical center in CZ will be excluded from the list and we will have to take Medical Check somewhere in Austria.
I found this Bulletin regarding the closure of Prague VO:oszi said:http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/missions/prague.asp

As Prague did not process PR applications, its closure does not have an impact on PR processing. PR applications should continue to be submitted through normal channels.
New Economic Class applications should continue to first be submitted to the Centralized Intake Office in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada (CIO-S).
New Family Class applications should continue to first be submitted to the Case Processing Centre in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada (CPC-M).
New PRTD applications should be submitted to the VAC in Prague and will be processed in Vienna.

Great news! Although, Vienna changed processing time to 31 months...I just hope it won't take that long.borojevic said:Vienna is active! i ve been silent on this thread till now. Glad it exists at all.

Hi there friend.Greek26 said:Hi all,
I just saw this thread exists.
I will give my timeframe, maybe it helps someone.
Application sent to NOva Scotia: August 16, 2013
AOR received: September 30, 2013
Medical Request: September 30, 2013
Medical Done: October 14,2013
Status on Ecas medical received: beginning of November, 2013
I applied to Vienna Embassy under PNP Skilled Worker.
Currently it says 17 months to process the application. Hope it won't take longer than that.
Welcome, and a hearty congrats to a very speedy process so far. From what I saw elsewhere on this forum, another PNP applicant took almost a year to get processed (from 2012 - 2013), so maybe they really have decreased the backlog and are able to get back to recently received files.Greek26 said:Hi all,
