Today i had a chat with TCS representative he said that your old tracking number is no more valid, after your package delivered (what ever your decision comes) embassy will resend it to you with a new post and it will be delivered to your home address.....

what i have heard from my friend is that the passport comes in the same office you send from, and that you have to collect it yourself...
whats the reality??

Both are correct.. Actually a year ago TCS used to deliver your passport at your door step but they used to charge fees. Nowadays they call you to pick your passport up at their office and they are not charged any fees!...

I did call TCS help line. The guy said, I should contact Visatronix center directly as it should have arrived by now.

hi guys, i have same isssue with TCS tracking ... they dont update their web. my status is same " forwarded to isb office after 20 days. and when i toked to Visa tronix office they said ur case has been forwarded to CHC and we do forward it urgently. so dont worry it is our website issue....

no need to hurl buddy, in a days or two the tcs status would show delivered and the name of person who received your application. so no worries keep praying you have just applied, we have been waiting for two months now. keep praying dude. no need to go to tcs go there on monday if the status does not show the name of person who received the application

I got the same response via telephone. Did u also apply through Gulberg, Lahore office???

RKazi, i am not a student visa applicant, so wasn't sure i should include myself here, rather am a work permit applicant along with family. This is an active thread so i joined to get an idea of the pace of CIC islamabad in processing, plus helping out others for info in cases where i know more.

work permit and immigration categories are different .. he must be not for student permit ...

I even doubt this is allowed for work permit either. CIC website clearly states only go for medical when you are instructed to. I know of at least two other colleagues (both work permit applicants in software domain) who applied on paper, one got medical call after 5 days of applying, the other took around a month. Both received visas in exactly two months (medical included). This was in dec - feb 2013 time frame.

Also if you have applied on paper, your passport is also in the package and i have heard many cases in which OMI refuses to conduct medical without original passports even when the instruction letter says passport, NIC or driving license (some form of photo id required). So you might get an appointment, but you never know when you need to get it done.

In my case, my application went for the 3rd time (returned being incomplete twice, not refused for reasons which are clear mistakes of CIC not mine, since info on their website and subsequent letters to me was wrong).

The bottom line, medical should always be done latter when asked by CIC irrespective of visa type. This also applies to immigration visa types as well.
