Hi all!
I just received my CAIPS notes. i got PER on December 16.
It seems they gave me 5 points (adaptability) for 2 years of PhD study in Canada. However, although they didn't give me any points for having a brother as PR (provided enough documents). My total point is 71 according to them.

Should I now contact them about this?

Thanks
FYI, CIO Sydney did give me adaptability points for my Canadian relatives.

Thanks Sia. What was your total point and what was your adaptability point?
So what should I do now? E-MAIL them?

They gave me 5 points for my previous PhD study. Taking a closer look, the situation for my relatives is a bit unclear. There's a value in front of the field, but the points field is left blank (instead of a zero that I have for arranged employment for instance)

Is that what you see?

This is mine:

Relative in Canada (18 or older): 25 Points:
Previous Work in Canada: Uni-Masters/First Prof Degree Points: 0
Previous Study in Canada: 3 Points: 5
Arranged Employment: 0

Adaptability Points: 5

Not sure what that 25/29 means and why the points field is blank. Perhaps waiting for Ottawa's confirmation?

Strange! This is not age for sure as my brother is 34.
I am not that much worried as they considered previous study (some people didn't get it as I have seen in the group).
But for somehow if they cancel this point, we are down to 66.
That's why I wanted to make sure relative's point is counted :(

Lets see what happens next.
Hope some senior will tell us how to update this point.

An emergent question:

I am applying FSW PhD and I just realized that the proof of funds says "You must be able to use this money to pay the costs of living for your family (even if they are not coming with you)."

I have parents who are living in China, not coming with me for the immigration.

DOES IT MEANS MY NUMBER OF FAMILY MEMBERS IS 3?

Previously I submitted a proof of fund for 12000 CAD, which is more than $11,115 for one person but not $17,011 for three. What shall I do? Will a be a problem?

Thanks a lot!

I heard that if you get PR, you can apply for OHIP in Ontario. Is it for my spouse also?
Please share experiences if anyone have done it.

Thanks.

Thanks for all of your kindly answers!

I haven't marry yet, then fund for one person is sufficient I think :)
depends if you want your partner to come with you. In that case he/she counts as a dependent. In Canada, you don't have to be married to be considered a spouse, you can be a common-law partner as long as you have lived together for a certain number of years.

Thanks for the response to that question, I was getting scared. Please do you know if the money has to be in CAD, ot they take statements in the currency of the candidate's country?? Thanks!
