    Winnipeg - 2017 Citizenship Applicants

Your comments are highly discriminatory and on the fringe of full blown racism. Thankfully, CIC does not grant citizenship based on level of income. You are not the only one paying taxes, and you are certainly not the only one who is a hardworking law abiding person. The fact that immigration in...

    Winnipeg - 2017 Citizenship Applicants

Thank you! The oath letter arrived via snail mail, and ECAS still indicated DM after that. My timeline is in my signature and on the google sheet, but note that I had special circumstances that got CIC to advance my oath ceremony. As I mentioned in an earlier post, people should not expect my...

I don't recall them taking the COPR. The oath is done in English then French, and everyone is asked to say it in both languages (it's okay if you don't speak both, just go with reproducing what the judge says).

We are officially Canadian citizens (as of an hour ago). The way the ceremony works: you show up (as everyone else who is taking the oath that day) around the required time, and you line up to give your PR card and sign a few papers. The line up is probably what takes the longest (there were 81...

    Winnipeg - 2017 Citizenship Applicants

They want some kind of official paper (physical proof) showing that you would be unavailable. I was proactive, as I asked put the request even before I received an oath invite. My job would have prevented me from attending a ceremony between the end of July and October, so I asked if there was...

Hi everyone, we received the oath invitation letter today, for May 29th. Please note that I had put a request for a ceremony date prior to July 29th because of professional circumstances. These circumstances were deemed reasonable based on documentation I provided - in short, I would not...

    Winnipeg - 2017 Citizenship Applicants

Just passed the test this morning. I was unsure of about 5 questions, but still got full marks. Go by elimination if any question looks a little more complicated and narrow it down to the best possible one. I was surprised to hear that the oath ceremony would be from 4 to 6 months from the test...

Hi everyone, I am back on the Canada immigration forum after 3 years of absence following a crazy PR process. For PR, I was on the PhD application stream as soon as it opened, and I was rejected the first time I tried (as many, many other applicants who jumped on this stream too early - see my...

Applicant from PhD program after 5 Nov, 2011 connect here to get status

My supervisor wrote it and I specifically asked him to use duties corresponding to "biologist" (it was the NOC I had chosen). I did check what he wrote and thought it was perfect. At this time I did not know about the lead statement and such, and I got rejected based on the fact that his letter...
