Guys I have a question, is it possible they could still be doing eligibility assessment even after sending the medical request. Or has anyone been denied PR after medical request.

Quite possible. There was atleast one person in this forum who was rejected for inadequate funds after medicals...

Hi all,

As N_O said, if under notes, you can read assessment by an Ottawa officer, then they have completed selection factor assessment (passing selection factor does not mean you pass eligibility; you need to have enough money as well). If not, then only Sydney has done very initial and face value assessment.

I think 'no reportable trace' means that they could not find criminal records while doing RCMP screening, so it's a good thing :)

Also, RPRF outstanding means you have not paid this fee yet. It probably won't hurt to pay this fee even if they haven't asked for it yet, provided you have received medical request.

Lastly, if you're from a visa exempt country, then counterfoil will be 'no', since they will not need to paste the immigrant visa on your passport (just landing paper is enough).

Hope this helps :)

Your eligibility is in progress. Have they (FA01772) asked you yet for proof of funds documents? If so, then you have passed selection factor.

Thanks, man :)

TA/RA is indeed a job, I know some people with just TA/RA who have already received their PR, and also myself. In fact, the provision for CEC does not exist for FSWP, so even work experience gained under work permit should still count for FSWP.

Border agents can say whatever they want, but in the end, it's CIC who determines whether or not a work experience can be accepted.

I am almost sure that no one was rejected for insufficient funds after medicals, Utopie and Masoud2011 were rejected for this reason but before medicals for sure.

How many points were you entitled for adaptability? Are they for spouse's education, Canadian Children or both?

I paraphrase a previous post by asbereth below. The rejection was for insufficient points for work experience. It is still a part of eleigibility all the same. This apart, I am sure there was atleast one more rejection after medicals for insufficient funds. This was early last summer I guess

"utopie too got rejected after medical, and but she was on CEC. But apparently, there is still a slight chance that you may not be found eligible, even after medical, despite the fact that it is Ottawa themselves that issue medical requests. I wonder why they made him do medicals almost two years ago, only to later on reject his case due to having 3 less points (he said he lost the 10 points for arranged employment, I wonder how that could be the case). "

As TyrusX said, utopid got rejected due to insufficient funds, but it was before medical. As for CEC, I know so far two cases where applicants got rejected after medicals, utopie was one. Apparently, medical request does not seem to imply eligibility within the context of CEC, but for FSWP, medical is usually requested after eligibility is passed.

There have been cases where there was indication that eligibility was passed (request for RPRF), but no medical yet (Shomo [got MR about 5 months after he passed eligibility], dj2009, and anjuku [but she got it the next day]). In most cases, at least within the context of PhD stream, eligibility review is almost always before medical request. On other FSWP streams (I think it was FSW2, or the job offer stream), somebody got requested medical, but two years later got fired or lost his job. Ottawa then rejected his application since they took away the 10 adaptability points for having a job offer (either that or he was no longer eligible since he did not have job offer any longer).

Crazy, but what can we say :( It's crazy how they would just take away points for losing jobs, but not waive the proof of funds requirements if somebody got a job before getting assessed (such as in utopie's case).

Did your GCMS notes contain anything regarding selection factor?

since you said that your eligibility says not started, i don't think you have passed Eligibility by ottawa...i believe they were just gathering documents from you for the purpose of eligibility assessment and will actually do that later when it's time for your application to be assessed. Also, if you had passed selection factors, there will be a paragraph worth of notes like what asbereth got, saying that the considered this and this reference letter and gave you so and so years of work experience and so on....
Ya, I think this is the case. They were asking for POF documents, which would be used to assess eligibility (since having enough settlement funds is a part of eligibility assessment). That would explain why the request for POF would be classified under eligibility. Besides, they're currently assessing applications received up to the middle of April, and kaziahmed applied on June. It's crazy how slow our stream is compared to CEC. July 2012 and August 2012 CEC applicants have started receiving medicals and passport requests

Yeah, both got rejected before medical request. I'm pretty sure Masoud2011 passed selection factor, but failed eligibility :(

Is this is the first time you have heard from the VO regarding the request for additional documents ? I assume you have submitted an official letter from your bank along with your application packet. If this is the case, more often than not, CPP would like to see evidence of account activity for the past six months. Some applicants updated their file with these documents and they were just fine. In case you meant that you had submitted these documents together with your application, even then the VO might want to double check your account balance at a later date. It really depends on a case by case basis. Hope this helps
Thanks a lot! As you said, this maybe just a verification of my recent activities in my account, I think I will just go to my bank, and update my document later. Appreciate it.

I think asking for six months bank statement is getting very common these days. Most of the applicants I guess submitted a letter from the bank showing their current balance and didn't submit six months activities and thats what they are looking for. They wanted to confirm that that money you are showing is completely belongs to you and u haven't borrow from anyone. I also received six months bank statement request, so don't worry about this as long as you have the money send them the statement asap before that they won't determine your eligibility.
Thanks
Thanks a lot! I will just update these document as they required.
