This is what I will write for my RA. I do not care if it contains too much copy and paste. It seems that they want that.

Hi,

I have two questions:

1. Is it true that PhD students in Quebec universities are rejected from PhD stream and told to go to obtain a CSQ before applying? What if they do not want to stay in Quebec in the first place?

2. Can one apply for a CSQ then apply for a a separate federal PhD stream? In case the first gets rejected (i.e. because of French language) the second can still pass through as they are totally different programs?
They are all rejected as it is not easy to prove that you have no intention to remain in Quebec. The point is that when you get the PR visa you can not reside in Quebec. Now, what if you get a PR visa while you still have 1-2 years to finish up your PhD study? You cannot remain in Quebec anymore.

I believe they do not care if we copy word by word from the NOC site, as was the case for my TA. I had copied and pasted word by word, and it was accepted. Just add a little bit about the nature of your research work, and express what the outputs have been so far such as listing the papers published or conference presentations. It is good to have evidence provided in your reference letter. Have some of the information in the bold font like the start date of your employment, and the number of hours spent.

I would add something like this: He assists me, Dr. ******, as his supervisor, in research activities which include ******. Add 1 or 2 non-listed duties as well. Add this that Mr. *** has been enrolled as a PhD student in **** department meanwhile.

Remember, read the 4012 NOC code page, have all the elements in your reference letter. Do not ignore the smallest ones this time.

GeoCanadian, congratulations :) ! I think at this point, you can be pretty sure that your work experience descriptions have been accepted.
Thanks asbereth! I think so too.

I need to throw a question out there: while I was waiting for the immigration to go through I received an offer for a tenure track job. I accepted and Labour Market Opinion is due to arrive in about a week's time. If I submit my letter of appointment/contract and approved LMO, will this be a good substitution of settlement funds that should have been sitting in my account? Has anyone heard or done this before?

Also, what is the timeline between submitting proof of funds and receiving medical request? And then, what is the timeline between returning completed medical request and getting passport request?

Thanks to all in advance!

I wonder if anyone sent a new updated complete work experience letter showing the NOC duties after the application package was submitted to the CIC and the new work experience letters got accepted or considered.

If none of the new letters were accepted nor support the applications, I guess everyone consider submiting a new application package with the new letters before May 4th, if prefer the current system.

No they won't consider your job offer and LMO. I am 100% sure because this is what I did and I got rejected. I no longer had the funds by the time they asked for them (had to use them) and got a full time tenure track position as assistant professor (with LMO) last summer. They said that at the time I applied I did not have this job therefore they could not take it into consideration.
Just look at my previous posts.

Could you please guide me

I can see in my Privacy Act they mentioned my Occupation is "Research Assistant" and NOC: 4122. But I am absolutely sure I put 4012 as NOC of my research assistant career. Also, my supervisor wrote the letter based on 4012. Especially to those people who got the rejection and received their Privacy Act, could you share this part of your Privacy Act. I am wondering this mistake just happened to me or others already faced with this problem.

"I am not satisfied that you meet these requirements. Your letters of reference from your employers did not list job duties or responsibilities that match the actions described in the lead statement described in the NOC codes you selected. More specifically, there was no evidence that you assisted university professors and other faculty members in teaching and research activities. As such, you failed to demonstrate that your periods of work experience met the requirements listed above.
"
What other evidence did you provide?

I do not think so. Do not count on the supplementary letter, and re-apply.

They are both the same.
