I'm sorry to hear about your rejection.unb_wood said:Hi Guys,
Just got email from CIC office, They rejected my application by job duties and responsibilities. The officer is also FA01772.
Actually, I prepared my RA reference letter using a template provided by my friend who successfully got his permanent residence by claiming the RA working experience.
It seems there are lots of rejections for the same reason in last few days. The PhD stream is really ridiculous. Can we find a solution together?
Dear Allaidina said:I am sorry. Lots of people have been rejected for this reason. I got rejected for the same reason a few days ago as well. May you please share your reference letter. It might be helpful for those who plan re-applying. Do not really they think that this large volume of rejection for the same reason is a bit unusual?

I found this forum and indeed it is very useful. After all of this tragic refusals, I skimmed through the internet. I found another way of appealing - besides the same visa office and the federal court- and I urge all of whom have been refused to use this last resort, to create a recognized pattern of complaints (mentioned in that website). Please google " Case Management Branch cic" and choose the first link.
There is an email in that pdf for immigration case reviews, especially, for those whom don't want to go through litigation. Please try to prepare a good email, supported by excerpts of Operation Manuals especially OP 6B. Also, it worth to mention all of these inconsistencies in awarding adaptability points (awarding at CIO and removing at visa office, not awarding points for kids born in Canada before new regulations as most of the cases, not awarding points for spouse's education, not taking into consideration arranged employment offers) and the infamous work experience letter issue.
I'm really at a loss for words as to why these descriptions for RA would be rejected. The HRSDC website mentions thataidina said:This letter is issued to supplement the information given in the university reference letter dated March 1, 2012 regarding the main duties conducted by Mr. **** as a Research Assistant. Hereby, we confirm in more detail that Mr. ***** has been working as a Research Assistant at ****** since Jan. 2010 (minimum 36.25 hrs per week) assisting Dr. ****** in doing laboratory experiments, data acquisition, analysis and post-processing of results, writing reports, and preparation of scientific journal papers and international conference presentations both as a first author and co-author.
Your supervisors mentioned 'doing laboratory experiments and data acquisition', which should be covered under 'other research' as in one of the main duties. Likewise, your supervisors also mentioned 'analysis and post-processing of results, and preparation of scientific journal papers', which match really well with the second description.research assistants perform some or all of the following duties:
Conduct literature reviews, surveys, laboratory experiments and other research for use in scholarly publications
Compile research results and assist professors in the analysis of results and the preparation of journal articles or papers.
These are all fine and good, but I think several people have tried contacting the MPs and ministers to no avail. And no appeal to the VO has been successful, though rejected applicants like Luigiovemma and aidina may have some chances of success (slim as that may be), so hopefully we'll hear some good news about them soon. I'm curious about the PhD stream program director though. Where have you heard about such a person, and how can we contact them?salam20 said:I am so sorry to hear that. There is a list of what we can do:
Someone can get advice on the work experience letter format including the leading statement and duties from
1) a lawyer, ( if you have a friend who works for a lawyer)
2) MP office, (you can complant to them, they know who is the right person to contacted, they willl help, as it is federal issue)
3) PhD stream program director
a) You can ask him / her to provide a template on the work experience that they are looking for Research and Teaching assisstants
b) You can ask him/ her for reconsideration of your application
c) You can ask him/ her to describe how they want the work experience letter to look like.
4) The minister office (You can complain and ask for the samethings in (3))
Please all fellows who got the rejection email, please consider two things:
1) Reconsideration letters– If the refusal was based on an error in fact or in law, and/or if that decision was not in accordance with the principles of procedural fairness, write to the Program Manager of the Canadian Visa Office to point out the errors and to request a reconsideration of the refusal decision;
2) Appeal – Wrongful refusals may, in certain instances, be appealed to the Federal Court of Canada or to the appropriate provincial court or, in the case of family sponsorships, to the Immigration Appeal Division.
the lastest two points are listed on http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/how-to-appeal-our-rejection-app-urgent-plssssssss-t96574.0.html
email to the ottpilot-immigration@cic.gc.ca that addresses the PhD stream program director.asbereth said:These are all fine and good, but I think several people have tried contacting the MPs and ministers to no avail.
