I request my new GCMS notes today. Let's see what will happen in 4 weeks. I'll be going to Brazil in the end of March for 2 weeks. I am actually hoping the take some time to process things now.

Were you refused at the Sydney level? Several people either did not get past Sydney or got asked to provide more detailed word experience letter. Usually you won't even get Sydney PER without complete reference letters. Anyway, did you try reapplying now? Make sure that everything is complete so they won't have any more excuses for rejection.

I haven't checked this, but couldn't you just have gone to Ottawa directly after you got the request? This used to be allowed back when Buffalo was still open (rather than sending them our passports, they would just go the visa office, and got their passport stamped).

It will be a completely new application. Several people here (unfortunately) are experts in re-application, so maybe they can comment on whether you will get your application package back. Also, UCI is the same for all of your applications, your application numbers, though, will be different.

I sent mine end of January but still not hearing from them yet...Nothing seems to move on my PR application side...It's been quite annoying these days because I might get a very good post-doc opportunity in the States...but then I need to stay there for two years... Not knowing where I am in the middle of the PR processing makes everything so complicated...

it takes exactly 30 days +- 1 or 2 days if too close to weekends.

well, about your pos-doc. It is all about your wanting to be a Professor or not. As for myself, I'm getting out of academia. But if you really want to be a prof, I would say the pos-doc should have priority about residency.

I submitted the application on Jan. 29 2012, and got the PER on Mar. 8, 2012. Recently I was requested (on Feb. 11, 3013) for the proof of funds and Police certificate from home country.

For the bank statement, I explained some transaction of large amount, e.g., over 10k. Do I have to explain every transaction during 6 months? For instance, I deposit my wife's income for her small business each week, and do I have to explain what's the source of it (I didn't explain this on the cover letter submitted earlier)? Experienced applicants help me on this pls! Thank you in advance.

Just a quick update. I got the medical request on Feb. 23, which I think means that the proof of funds and Police certificate I submitted earlier were okay.
This is a good news. But my wife is pregnant for 4 weeks, and she will do all the medical tests but X-ray. In this case, how will CIC proceed?
Will my application (as well as my wife's) be considered to be incomplete and thus delayed suppose I do the medical exam and everything is fine? Or my application will be proceed and only my wife's is deferred? Or both applications will be further processed?

Hi. Just wondering, do they issue a receipt for the application fee if I got NEP.
It seems they sometimes fail us for small or unfair issues and no refund. (lOl)
With a receipt, at least I can apply reimbursement from my Univ. $550 is definitely not a small sum for us students.
