I applied in the first week of Nov 2014. My credit card was charged around Jan 9, 2015 and received my file number on 4th Feb, 2015. I still can't retrieve my eCAS status online. How long does it take for eCAS to be active? I could be checking it wrong? Where exactly do you check the status?

It usually activates after fews days of your PER issued. In my case, it was activated first and I got PER two days after. Here is the link, you can try both UCI # and File # and see which one works.

You can try to call CIC agent. This is weird of not working.

I actually tried once. It is so frustrating to listen the automated message. I waited more than 45 mins on hold and finally got chance to talk to an agent for 1 min. Try again, have deep breath and wait on hold. In the beginning they actually tell the estimated waiting time. What I did is, made hands free and work at the same time, it is very annoying but I did it.

I was finally able to reach an agent to ask about my case. I was told by the agent that there is any information still in the system for December applicants, she told me that it has been the case for many applicants that have called recently regarding applications received on December. So, we need to wait. I also ask if the cap for PhD stream was reached and she told that there was not information in the systems about that.

Thanks for your reply. I have tried to contact CIC using the CALL CENTER at 1-888-242-2100. But after many options, it is impossible to reach an agent. At the end, there is always an automated messages that says that due the high volume of calls they are not able to transfer the call to an agent. Any suggestions?.. I just wanted to know if they are still processing applications or if they already reached the cap for PhD Stream. Thanks.

Hi,

You need to call them around 8 A.M. At this time you get answer after 10 min maybe. Also after selecting proper options, you can use # key to reach the agent faster.

Usually it is activated after CC charged and before getting PER. But I have seen cases like yours which were activated after PER.

About second question: My notes is showing the same thing, I don't think it is important. When was your application arrived at CPC-O ? Is eligibility passed ?

It is not important to inform them about the fax change anymore. They know that you may do not have any contact with the office (with that fax number) anymore. Because you did not provide it in your PR application right? For instance, I provided my cell phone number at the time I applied for Visa and currently that line is off.

Regarding your second question, I believe it is related to the changes occurred in their regulations for FSW and it is not related to your application. I have the same dates.
