Dear friends,

I just learned about this CANADAVISA forum! (After I submitted my application to Sidney this morning!!)
I read some of the recent threads that made me stress out.

1. For eligibility points, I wrote a note and referred to my Canadian work experience, my PhD studentship in Canada, and my language proficiency. The only documents that I have in my package to support PhD studies eligibility are my transcripts and letter of attestation. I did not add any letter of enrollment or anything else. Does it mean that I wont get points for phd studies eligibility?
2. In the form I calculated and inserted all the years that I have been studying (12 + 4 years BA + 3 years MA + 4 years PhD =23). Can this be a reason for rejection? I am still a candidate and have not received a PhD degree.
in normal cases, neither of these reasons leads to rejection of application. The most important factors are Job Letter and English. So, don't worry and the enjoy your time.

I agree, it shouldn't be a reason for rejection. The worst thing that could happen is a delay in your application, but I don't think they will return it for this issue. However, if the reference letters do not include a substantial number of duties for the primary occupation you stated in your application, please expect a rejection.

1. As long as you have letter of attestation from dean of graduate research and studies, you dont need anything else to support your PhD studies. If you missed that too, you will get your file returned for sure, not rejection. I hope you have english test result and Job letters in your file. If you miss any of them, your file will be returned.

My suggestion would be, if you have missed letter of PhD attestation (or any of them), write email to CIO and send them ASAP, before your file is returned.

2. This is not a reason to worry, they will do their own calculation. Neither your file will be rejected nor returned only on this ground.

Yes, your file will be returned if you do not meet the basic eligibility, not "rejected" like I said previously. "Rejected" is when Ottawa does not accept your application.

Hey guys,

My doctor has notified me that he uploaded my medical results to CPC Ottawa yesterday at 2.32pm. I wonder when I should see the third line in my eCAS status saying "medicals received"? He said after this thursday, but do you think it could be possible?

Thanks, any insights are much appreciated!

Thanks! 6 days after your medicals were done? or after your physician uploaded the results to CPC-O?

I don't know when physician uploaded my results. But I saw the third after 6 days, which I assume was a bit quick.

I am just checking the second chart within the CHART tab, not sure what the NOC was but CIO does not discriminate NOCs, they charge CC based on first come first served and of course if they are complete!

But if you go to FSW 2014 page, you will see that right now only applicants with noc 2171 and 2173 are getting charged. Probably they wanna reach the cap for those nocs and return the extra ones for those nocs.

You may be right but I can't check the FSW2014 page because it takes ages to load in my laptop :(. All I can tell you is that when June 09 applicants (from other NOCs) started getting their CC charged mine was charged at the same time :)

Thank you all. I provided all the docs that you mentioned (letter of attest, ielts, and ref letters)
I had my application returned once last year due to insufficient work ref letters. So this year I was very careful. I provided all the minimum requirements. I couldn't provide police certificate and new reference letters from my home country because it is very bureaucratic there and I need to be there physically and follow up the matter myself. But I updated my Canadian work experience ref letters (less than 1.5 years full-time). So I'm optimistic that I meet the minimum criteria. My points without eligibility is exactly 67. It would be great if they also consider some eligibility points for me.
