To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to formally appeal the recent refusal of my Canadian tourist visa application, as communicated in your letter citing non-compliance with the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA), Subsection 16(1). The refusal was based on the grounds of not providing required photographic and fingerprint evidence in a timely manner.
I wish to clarify that I submitted my visa application on March 4, 2024, and diligently checked the visa application portal daily for any updates or requests from your office. Unfortunately, I did not receive any communication requesting fingerprints until April 4, 2024. Upon receiving this request, I immediately scheduled an appointment for the earliest available date, which was May 22, 2024, in Boston.
Regrettably, I was informed on May 9, 2024, that my visa application had been denied, prior to the fingerprinting appointment I had scheduled. I proceeded with the fingerprinting on May 22, 2024, as planned, in hopes of demonstrating my compliance and commitment to completing the application process.
The timing of these events was particularly unfortunate as it resulted in my missing a significant personal event—the graduation ceremony of a close friend at the University of Toronto. This was a deeply disappointing outcome, not only due to the administrative issues but also because of the personal milestones missed.
I respectfully request that my application be reconsidered, given that the delay in fingerprint submission was due to the late receipt of the request from your office, and not from any negligence on my part. I have now complied with all requests for information and evidence as required by your office.
Thank you for considering my appeal. I am eager to comply with any further requirements that you deem necessary and look forward to a favorable resolution.
Sincerely,
Weihong Ma
