FYI I got a bridging permit in the mail last week based on my PR application which I submitted in January. Not sure if it's indicative of my application having progressed sufficiently or if I was just lucky. By the letter of the law I think my PR application might not have progressed sufficiently as it still is stuck on Medical passed and everything else being not needed at this time etc. but just thought I'd share. Also do I need to inform CIC of my new permit? Well done to all the successful January PR candidates.

2 years from the date of issuance. I think the ITA date is the cut off date. Others can weigh in ...

I posted this earlier in another thread. I would please like some advice/input from the experts on where i currently stand:

I applied for my GCMS notes on February 2nd, just out of curiosity. I did not expect to find any useful information there. I just received the GCMS notes and got the following info.

Date: 02/02/2016
AGENT REVIEW A11.2 *** Having analysed this application based on the documents submitted by the applicant and the information contained in the application: A11.2 decision: Met 75(2) FSW Minimum Requirements - Appears Met 76(1)(a) Selection Criteria - FSW Points: Appears Met FSW points total: 82 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) CRS points at invitation to apply (ITA): 478 CRS minimum score for round 461 Current CRS score:472 Change in PA age between ITA and APR which changed the CRS points. I have reviewed information and documents for CRS points for the following: PA awarded points as single at ITA and APR PA awarded points for 3 year foreign work experience with XYZ Co. and ABC Co. Primary Occupation: NOC Huh with XYZ comapny. Submitted reference letter confirms applicant's employment in declared occupation throughout specified period and described duties which are consistent with NOC Skill Level B. Reference letter confirms full-time employment or the equivalent in part-time employment

Police certificates R10 OK All police certificates on application; RCMP Check NRT. Criminality Decision Passed. AGE Applicant's age reviewed and has changed from ITA to e-APR

29/01/2016: Education/Education Documents Canadian educational credential on file; credential reviewed; Canadian institution recognised; Credential is consistent with level of education claimed by PA under EE Eligibility

23/01/2016: Review Type: Support Service Agent- Sent Application for R10 Review; RCMP Check Initiated; Documents set for Review: Client Info/Education/Proof of Funds/Police Certificate.

03/02/2016: Paper file transfer history
Transfer Reason: Workload re-distribution. Office: CPC-Ottawa from Centralized Intake Office.

Under Assessments:
Eligibility: Met
Security: Not Started
Criminality: Passed
Medical: Passed

I just have a few questions: First, what stage of the application process am i in right now? I didn't quite understand the difference between criminality and security?
Secondly, I found notes on all the other documents sent for review by the Support Service Agents except proof of funds, although it was stated as MET. Does that mean that its been assessed or is still being assessed? Thirdly, What does Due Date mean? Mine says March 2nd 2016? Is my application ok? I would appreciate all inputs from the experts in the house. Thanks!!

Hello There,

How did you request for GCMS? I tried doing so from the link below and it seems that only a PR or a Citizen can request this. I am keen on placing a GCMS notes request. Can you please guide me with the process?

FYI, this was the link I tried to use :- atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/welcome.do?lang=en

The first line on the page states:
"To be eligible to make a request under the Access to Information Act or the Privacy Act, you must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada or an individual or corporation currently present in Canada."

Are you resident in Canada? If you are, you can apply using this link - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-atip.asp. If you are outside Canada, you can apply through any of these agencies: gcmsnow.com; visafile.info or gcmsnotes.ca.

It usually takes 1 month to get your GCMS notes after you apply. I hope this helps!

Hi, I got 1 year. It was dated from when they processed my application and not when I actually applied. I was on 'implied status' for a while as I waited. I submitted it by paper. Took around 16 weeks. If you don't need to travel I recommend submitting it by paper

Hi Glenn,

You have to wait until 4 months before the expiry of your current WP before you can apply. It really depends on your situation but as I said if you don't need to leave Canada and travel anywhere I would wait until May or the last week or two of your current WP and then apply by paper to Vegreville. AB. It will take them about 3-4 months to process your paper application (You need to photocopy your passport fill out a form and pay a processing and WP fee etc.). During that time you are allowed continue under the conditions of your previous WP on implied status. Technically you need more more than an AOR before you can apply. The AOR is more about the old system when the AOR actually meant your application was pretty much accepted and all together but not fully processed yet. The EE system doesn't really have an AOR element anymore and your application must reach a certain stage before they can technically issue you with a BOWP.
