How long did it take you to contact them? I have been calling like 20 times on the loop and getting the same "we are currently experiencing a high volume of calls"

You know you can wait until that "we are currently experiencing a high volume of calls" message is over and it directly takes you to the estimated time to connect call. I tried 3 times on 3 different days and i got connected 3 times in 10 minutes each time.

Could you share the number you were trying please? I assume you are calling from outside Canada right?

Try this number- +16139444000... press 2 for immigration. takes you to cic, press 1 for english, press 7 for express entry, wait for their message to be over then press 0. You are going to hear that high volume message bla bla. wait for it and then there you go

And yes, as suggested below, you need to wait for that message to be over.

Guys I have just spoken to a super nice agent. She told me that currently my clearance is being checked and that my application is not transferred to any local visa office (don't know if it is good or not though ;D ). Also she advised to continue checking my application online. So, basically that was it.

Thanks for the reply. My employer is gonna shut down the business by September. So was thinking to apply for BOWP right away so that i can get open work permit and can work somewhere else.

is your current work permit a closed one?
if not..it doesn't matter even if you employer shuts down..u can still work till november, in case u had to apply for new jobs you can explain your new employer that your PR application is under process and you may get an approval anytime.

Yeah true I mean asking about the processing times for the clearance doesn't make sense because external agencies are involved.

i have a close work permit. Do they issue open work permit at the moment.

I read somewhere u need to be on line for about 10 minutes then u will be connected. Try that.
Abd yeah... ur file will be fine. Don't worry.

I am pretty much in the same situation but hey I have reached them yesterday. Tell me how do you follow the instructions when you call because maybe you are hangin' up earlier than you are supposed to I was making the same mistake.
