My background went in progress on my 6 month waiting period, looks like the same happened in your case. I see you are an "outland application" but you dispatched your passport to Ottawa, I thought applicants will be sending passports to local visa office or do they provide instructions in the PPR about where to dispatch the passport?
I face a bit of a problem, as I have to take an important exam in 1st week of June and to be allowed to sit for the exam I need to show my passport. I just hope I get the PPR soon, else my passport will be in Canada and I would not be able to take the exam which is so important. I might have to prepare for the exam till the end, just to find out that I didn't get my passport back on time and so I would need to prepare again next year to take the exam. I didn't mind this extended wait but now it is getting on my nerves, I hope that the PPR comes sooner so that I can prepare for my exam in peace and travel to Canada after my exam. Do guide me if you have any idea regarding this, I already have written to the exam administration and they would not allow any exceptions to the passport rule.
