Well, my file seems to be pending the attention of an officer, as everything seems to be passed/met. However, my visa office says that some background checks are
still in progress. I guess, they just send the generic/standard responses, just to keep us entertained.
As per the letter from the CSIS, my security screening was already concluded in March, 2016. :-X
I think, IRCC has already consumed majority of its available slots/quotas for the year and we might have to wait until the commencement of the next intake.
It seems, once an application exceeds the normal processing time, it becomes a low priority, as it doesn't add any value to IRCC's service standards which are expressed in terms of 80% of the applications (quantitative, rather than qualitative).
