My husband completed the compulsory military service more than 15 years ago. Would that count as military experience that would keep me waiting? Or is it military officers that get delayed?

My husband also did compulsory military service (17 years ago), we are AOR Mar 4. My understanding from the forms was that you have to declare all military experience regardless of how long ago it was. We also had to provide more detailed information about his military service in July, and I was told over the phone that the background check is not yet completed for one of us while everything else has been cleared. So yes, I suspect that this is related to the delay.

Congratulations Honeyaustin!!!

Its also good to know that CIC follows up on e-mails sent to incorrect addresses.

Sent passports (spouse and mine) to Ottawa today. Will keep the members in this thread posted on the turn around time.

We are on the same boat then. We also have AOR on March 4. I am FSW Outlander from Turkey. How about you?
How long do you suppose it will take for us to get through? A month? Two months?

What a day!

I sent my passport copies (visa exempt country) a few hours after the email. Now waiting.

Congratulation.

How did you find out that it was sent at wrong email?

We are FSW Inland from Singapore. I really don't know how much longer it will take... right now I'm just trying to not think about it =p I am planning to call them once a week for at least the next month. I'm also expecting gcms notes tomorrow so maybe there will be clues there, I'll update if there's anything interesting.

Do they actually contact the military for BG check? It might take ages before the military replies CIC's request!!

I called them twice this week. I was told I should probably hear from them before the end of the month and that I can always call them if I don't hear by then. I'm not sure what this means.
