Now most of us have crossed the 4 month period since AOR, myself over four and a half.
The question is - does cic take 6 months to reject an application too? Or are rejections sent out earlier?
I'm sure both the cases happen, but what is the proportion? Once you are beyond thr 4-5 month priod what are the chances of rejection? Since, I guess most of the reviews happen much earlier, and it's only the security and bg check that's remaning towards the end.

normally as closer you reach to 6 months lesser chances of rejection, normally cic prefer to reject in early stage when they do initial checks, which is usually in first couple of months, and if everything is fine, than they keep your file on side for more couple of months or they transfer it to your local visa office.

if they want they can process all the application in 3 months, but they have follow their 6 months processing time thing........ ;)

It is probably not true at 100% and I guess you could find files rejected after 5 or 6 months.
But it is logical for CIC to reject the files in the early stages to make sure the agents, analysts and officers don't work "for nothing". It wouldn't make sense to have a file handled for 6 months to finally reject it. The only reason I can see would be a red flag in the security background that they receive pretty late in the process.

BC in progress today since 4 months AOR, is it normal??

I thought BC in progress close to 6 months
To be honest, I don't think there is anything "normal".
We can see general trends but it is hard to generalize to all of us...
So, yes it is probably normal if your case was simple with no bumps.
Every single peculiar point in a case means the analyst or the agent has to report it and ask an officer to review this particular point resulting I guess in delaying your case of a few days or weeks...

As far as I know, most rejections after 5 months reported in the rejection thread are related to problems of employment (duties not matching official NOC code description, too long breaks between jobs that are claimed continuous, arranged offer not acknowledged) and proof of funds (sources of funds unclear).

And anyone know how do they check employment? Do they call or check via government resourses? Funds I also cannot understand, I provided bank documents but according them I put these money on myself for a period half a year, its not safe to keep money in bank in my country + I did not get salary in bank.

you are safe as of now as you have passed preliminary checks, now once someone at delhi vo picks up your file for processing they will go through everything again and if they don't find something wrong with your case you will be ok, and they might wait few days to weeks after they finish final processing, as mostly cic send ppr in batches.

and final processing usually begins after the 5th month of Aor as per current trend.
