Do you know if the "credits" from our OLD SIN could be transferred to our new SIN?

I was an international student and had also worked using PGWP. I had quite a substantial amount of "education/student" tax credits that I could use.

I don't think your sin # has much to do with your credits. It's the document that you got from school that determines your credits. sin # is only used in order to work and get paid.

Ps. if yo don't have a CRA account, you should get one. It is helpful to all have your tax documents in one place and you can track your carry over amounts (from school fees) to include in your claim for the next tax year.

I have a CRA account, and I have been filing for Tax returns every year.

It will be carried over. CRA will in their back-end merge both your old and new SIN and carry over the tax and credit history. You will see it on your CRA accoutn online. It wont be a problem. Just report your new SIN to CRA, your banks and your employer that is all. Everything else will take care of itself.

No, SIN no is tied to entire tax and credit history. Also any investments, RRSPs and TFSAs you may own. Your salary from work is just one of the, albeit major, components tied to it

Congrats to all PPR

Just noticing a trend

The PPR rain has just turned into a drizzle...PPR is being issue to few individuals daily rather than a chuck of applicants in one go

Also when the file hit BG-NA after the BG1 it takes approx 2-3 weeks to PPR

Just my observation!

All the best

I guess whenever you get PPR, I should expect mine.

You'd think so. I emailed ottawa asking where my app was and they said 'currently processing at Ottawa' but it didn't have the generic bit other people had saying 'we can confirm it's at our office and is being processed as per regulatory times'. So I don't think it's really there....

Whyyyyyyyy have cic slowed down!? :(
