This is nice and quite informative, but please remember to add the original source so that we can give credit to the author ;)

So, here is my criticism of the whole process. You notice how this guy has passed ELIGIBILITY on the 14th of Feb, right? Well we don't see it there, but from what I've read you only see you ELIGIBILITY status go to passed on the MyCIC pages after the decision is made and the send your PP back to you so for this guy probably 2 weeks after PPR...

WHY NOT CHANGE ELIGIBILITY to passed on the date the officer says it's passed? To me that would make it more transparent... As it stands we're left guessing that ELIGIBILITY has passed after BC goes to IP, but that's actually dependent on LVO so we NEVER know!!!

At the end of the day they have so many statuses on our MyCIC page and they tend to be useless... The only ones that actually mean anything are MEDICALS and DECISION MADE.. All others are may mean any number of things depending on the case reviewer, officer and LVO...

I totally agree with you and I don't want to take credit for this information. I just thought of sharing it here as it would help many of us to understand the task which is happening behind the scenes.

@nmuntz

If you know what your LVO is, you can get their email from here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/apply-where.asp
If you don't know what your LVO is, please check a few pages back for the procedure to find out what your LVO is.

Hey guys, i have submitted my pcc through case specific inquiry on 1st march but they didn't send me any response.
should i send them another email?

I submitted PCC via the cic doc section. There was a link to upload the additional doc. Any reason why you used CSE?

@nikla
Because i got my pcc later on. I didnt uploaded it and just wrote in Letter of Explanation

Can someone clarify what's the different between CIO Sydney and CPC Sydney please? Well from what I have read here, i believe your application go to a CIO office first where they checked for completeness. But at which stage would it move to the CPC department? Many thanks in advance :)

Hi all,
why do some applications stay with CIO for so long, but some people who applied after me have got PPR or been sent to LVO? What goes on at CIO that takes longer for some people than others? Does BG check happen at CIO or LVO?

Once R10 and criminality check has been passed, and A11.2 recommendation has been set.

Note: A11.2 recommendation can either be positive or negative and must be sent to CPC for final approval or rejection. Security check is done at CPC.

I couldn't find the answer for this. what is GCMS notes ..?
May be a silly question to ask but appreciate your answer

thanks in Advance

Just got a reply my application is being processed in CPC Ottawa. At least it's out of CIO. I emailed this morning, if anyone is wondering.

Damn it's so quiet in here regarding updates for medicals, background checks and PPR.

Make it rain CIC!!

Do you know if your files has been moved to LVO..?

Mine is still at CIO Sydney, as of 15 March.

Is there any difference if a file is in CPC Sydney or CPC Ottawa? if any?what?(in my head Ottawa sound better ;D)

My file is currently being processed in CPC Sydney

CEC-IN
EAOR:25 jan
MED & BG-IP: 24 feb

Its almost been a month was just curious on what is happening with my file..like what stage is it in currently?..i know its difficult to predict but may be some experts might know better tho.

I have a question for everybody who can name the date of status change. Are we supposed to get email notification of background check update, such as ns-ip-na. Many thanks

It goes to Ottawa for final review. Being at CIO means you're still basically at the first step.
