18 months is quite normal for a paper-based application.. If his is EE then he's probably got a complex case of travel to flagged countries mixed in with military/police background... But I know what you mean, it's scary to think that it COULD take more than 6 months... Then you realize that it could actually take more than 12 months...

GCMS Notes received after PPR was issued that explains my processing timeline from AOR to PPR
I ordered my GCMS notes for the first time on the day my application turned 5 months old, in order to receive it when the processing time becomes 6 so I would understand why it may pass the 6 months threshold. With Allah mighty blessings, I received my PPR 10 days later. The notes where issued the day before my PPR email was sent out, but it contains all the exact information required.

- If your RPRF wasn't paid upfront, and you receive a request in a later stage (4 months or more), this is definitely a great sign of application acceptance.
- My application was literally untouched for 13 months post to AOR then most of the checks were done in a span of 5 days!
- IRCC work a lot on weekends, if you check the dates, you'll find a lot of Saturdays and Sundays.
- There are 3 types of reviewing personal: Support Agent, Agent and Officer. I assume the rank is ascending, and an Officer is the one deciding the fate of an application.
- Security Checks are the most time consuming elements of an application. After further research on Google and the forum, CSIS (Canadian Intelligence) receives a request from IRCC to conduct a Security Background check on all applicants 18 years and over towards CSIS databases, such as terrorism and espionage. CSIS also send requests to all intelligence agencies of all the countries you live in for 6 months or more. This is done as part of a global information sharing protocol (reference and confirmation is in research)

Same here, no news after the medicals passed mid Febr, BG didnt start at all. This wait is upsetting ...

friends, got a question - my PNP certificate expiry date is 18th June 2017. Any idea what would be the consequences if my PR doesnt come through in the meanwhile ? Does it mean that my nomination gets cancelled and the 600 points withdrawn ? Or is everything "frozen" as the EE profile, including the PNP ?

Crazy thoughts in my mind these days, especially when there is no status change after my medicals, from mid Feb :'(

Join the club! My BC never went to IP... Still waiting and my medicals passed in Jan. There are quite a few people on the same boat mind you so DON'T worry - just check out the Tracker and you'll see.

That's the problem with reading the forum, you see lots of people getting PPRs and think you've been left behind... But it's not like that!

To your question - yes, everything (except medicals) is frozen at eAPR/AOR, so don't worry about your PNP Cert expiring as that won't affect your current application. HOWEVER, if you get refused or rejected AFTER you PNP cert has expired then you won't be able to re-apply with the same PNP certificate and the province will probably not issue you a new one AFTER the expiry date.

What you can do is order GCMS notes just to see if you've passed R10 and A11.2, if so you can probably breathe easy as a rejection after this point is very unlikely. Also, if in your GCMS notes you notice that they didn't like something about your application you can try to address it proactively with a CSE. But that's about all you can do I'm afraid....

That was before Express Entry, right? Was his a paper-based application?

If I'm not mistaken Raj mentioned that one of his colleagues (or friends) finally got PPR earlier this year after waiting SEVEN (yes 7) years! Before EE everything took A LOT longer.

Ah... also people who don't have a clean criminal record need to ask for rehabilitation that usually adds 2 years to the WHOLE process... not saying this is the case with your friend, just stating that criminal re-hab means a long wait!

Let me clarify here before this gets out of hand. I mean, from the name of the applicants, CIC can figure out their religion. Also do I need to spell out which religion? Also certain countries they have visited in the past causes issues. Anyway my mistake bringing this up. Let us move on to other topics

This is nice and quite informative, but please remember to add the original source so that we can give credit to the author

So, here is my criticism of the whole process. You notice how this guy has passed ELIGIBILITY on the 14th of Feb, right? Well we don't see it there, but from what I've read you only see you ELIGIBILITY status go to passed on the MyCIC pages after the decision is made and the send your PP back to you so for this guy probably 2 weeks after PPR...

WHY NOT CHANGE ELIGIBILITY to passed on the date the officer says it's passed? To me that would make it more transparent... As it stands we're left guessing that ELIGIBILITY has passed after BC goes to IP, but that's actually dependent on LVO so we NEVER know!!!

At the end of the day they have so many statuses on our MyCIC page and they tend to be useless... The only ones that actually mean anything are MEDICALS and DECISION MADE.. All others are may mean any number of things depending on the case reviewer, officer and LVO...
