I am facilitating the watsapp groups and running myimmitracker.

You're running myimmitracker... excellent! You're just the man I'm looking for... How do I do a query on how long has it taken to get AOR for Brazilian people? I've been told all Brazilians go through SPVO (São Paulo VO) and it's a slow VO... wanted some concrete data...

Im interested to know if there are any data about Lebanese people as well!

I've done my fair amount of travelling.. i was reading the thread at http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/those-who-waiting-express-entry-in-six-months-and-not-finalized-t317706.0.html and they were saying that for most people that have done lots of travelling the background/security clearance takes very very long because they contact the local police of countries you have visited and some of them are not very fast to respond...
i am starting to get very worried :-X
anyone else on the same boat?

Não sofra por antecipação! I'm sure there are many other factors that contribute to BC taking a long time and it's not just traveling alone.

I for one don't believe they do contact all the countries you've been too, possibly just the ones that you've spent significant time in and even that is pushing it. I honestly believe that if they wanted that kind of information they would have just asked us to provide PCCs for every country we have visited in the past 10 years.

Remember security and criminality are different, criminal checks focus on whether or not you have broken any laws, where as the security they attempt to verify if you'll be a menace to society of Canada, so they try to find ties to organised crime, terrorism, armed conficts, thats a much deeper check than just speaking to the police and takes time.

If you've traveled a lot to Florida to go to Disney world, I think you're OK... If you've travelled a lot to the middle east to conduct business, then perhaps not so ok... If you've travelled to Syria and appear in videos holding an AK-47... Then definitally not OK. :P

I think the same,
They will not check detail on every short holiday or business trip you went to. Most likely they will check some standardised database where is it available. However they can contact those where they see potential risk.
But they will definetly check following:
1. your country of citizenship - if it is still possible (country does exist) and reasonable (you left that country in the past as a refugee). They will do also crosscheck for your spouse even if non accompanying
2. All countries where you stated some kind of residential status in list of adresses (even if you do not require PCC from it)
3. All countries for which you did governmental job or where you were affiliated in certain type of organisations
4. Countries, where they see regular visit pattern (lot of business trips and such).
5. They can even consider countries of citizenship and residency of your parents, children and siblings.

All above is just my own opinion.

Yup that makes sense! In may case I'm a Hungarian citizen (as my dad is Hungarian) but I have not spent more than 5 days of my life in Hungary... I hope they don't ask me to get a PCC from Hungary as that will be a real pain...

Obrigado pelo encorajamento!
You guys are totally right.. my traveling has been mostly business related and for no longer than a week, so it shouldn't really be an issue...
I did live in the US for a few years but I got the corresponding PCC and US authorities should be fast to respond...
Keeping my fingers crossed that this group starts seeing some action in their applications!!

I've only spent 4 months outside of Canada since I turned 18, 3 out of those 4 months were in Yemen where you can't even get a police certificate. IRCC doesn't want it:

You do not have to provide a police certificate from Yemen unless we ask for one.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/mid-east/yemen.asp

So I would hope that my background check goes by relatively fast, as there is literally no documents that I could've submitted for PCCs.

That weird and funny at the same time... how can they not want a PCC from a country?

Anyway, better for you although you don't need to get a PCC from there anyway as you've not spend more than 6 months there.
