I wrote them today at 8.30 am and got a response in 30 ~ 35 mins

Thanks Mutaros. I sent them an email again and they replied back with the following:

Dear Sir/Madam,

Please be advised that your application is at our office and is being processed as per our regulatory timeline. Please note that we cannot confirm when your file will be ready for finalization.

An officer will contact you if further information is required.

Does that mean my file is at Ottawa office and is it the final location for a CEC application?

What does the email signature say? Sometimes that gives away the office.

Email signature in the response that I received is:

SB13808
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada | Immigration, Réfugiés et Citoyenneté Canada
Government of Canada | Gouvernement du Canada

Ok, I should probably reach out to Andy108 too as I haven't heard anything from the website owner yet. Nothing has changed on my status but I would like to be able to once it eventually happens.

I wish I had found this forum earlier so that I would've known to be looking out for changes with the background status because I'm really not sure if I am on IP (1) or IP (2). I certainly hope I've passed the N/A stage and just not realized lol...

I spoke just an hour too soon! BG just changed to NA.

Timeline is now -

CEC - Myself +1 dependent
ITA - 22nd Feb 2017
AOR - 24th Feb 2017
Medicals Passed - 21st Mar 2017
BG IP (1) - Not sure of this date
BG NA - 27th Apr 2017

BG IP (2) is next stage. Exciting times. I presume it's still highly possible to be refused for any reason at this stage?

I put my Application number in the subject line of the email,
and in the body add question about Visa Office with following information:

* Surname and Given name(s);
* Date of birth (YYYY-MM-DD);
* Unique Client Identifier (UCI) number / Client ID number;
* Category of Immigration (CEC, Provincial Nominee, Family Class, Federal Skilled Worker, Temporary Resident);

1) What other supporting documentation does CIC ask while requesting Passport?
2) Do we have to send Photographs as well?

Some agents use CIO and CPC Sydney interchangeably

It is not necessary for every application, but some of the application including mine noticed this trend. After reviewing my GCMS notes, it has been understood the below.

CIO Sydney - Medicals, R10, Criminality Checks
CPC Sydney - Eligibility assessment (Agent Recommendation), Security check triggered
CPC Ottawa - Final Decision

Hope it helps :)

Hi Kaur,

When it changed to NA, what did BG say beforehand? I wouldn't worry too much as all timelines can be different. After all, there are a few people who have gotten PR and applied after us. :D

When medical changed as pass, it was showing as "your application is in progress, next step is back ground check"
then it changed as NA from 4th april
