You were asked to provide Canadian Police Certificate? Why? On CIC website it says, it's not needed...

Because I lived in Canada for 2.5yrs as a temporary worker. They will ask for police clearance certificates from any country you lived in for 6months or more.

Yeah, I know that, Iblived in Canada for over a 6 months also, but on cic website they say it's not needed for Permanent Residency
Do I need to provide a Police Certificate with my Application for Permanent Residence? No
Source: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/north-america/canada.asp

So it is straight out of my curiosity - whyyyy ;-)

Yeah I read that too. See below an exert from the request letter. They gave me 2months to submit. I did it in 1 month but from here it was a drawn out and costly process!

"RCMP Criminal Record Check: If your residence period in Canada has been six months or longer since the age of 18, provide a certified criminal record check. You must provide a certified RCMP criminal record check based on fingerprints. Please check the CIC website (Obtaining Police Certificates) and refer to RCMP certificates in Canada for details on obtaining a RCMP Criminal Record Check."

Hmm, maybe it's a new or rather old (in terms of age and years worked at CIC) officer who was not aware it's not needed now...

Anyway - good I have my RCMP certificate ready just in case of such unpredictable CIC behavior

Good luck!

hi,

Is there any candidate here who applied for EEPR as FSW-inland-PNP nominated in April 2016 (or before), with spouse outside Canada and included on the application?

Cheers,

My colleague (PNP Inland) with AOR 4th April, got his background check in progress yesterday.

So if BG check has been changed to in progress means it is a good sign for PPR or still it is required not needed at this time and finally in progress.

1st week of August will be tough. Feb and March guys are still waiting. And Jan guys are still waiting. You should expect sometime in September.

What is your AOR? I am a FSW with a Job Offer also from pakistan. This is my timeline.
ITA: 9 March.
AOR 24 April
Meds passed: 25 April
BG: in progress 27 April
BG: not needed at this time 28 April
Nothing after that.
BG: in progress 22 June and still the same.

Any Idea what's going on with my application?? When would I be expecting PPR?.

I do and I was using his details today, I had even created the consent letter. Then I read the line that says, and i'm paraphrasing here, "the person who the information you are requesting for must be a Canadian citizen, resident, or currently living in Canada."
