Hello!

It's a team effort! Aral ako habang work si kumander and then qualified na kami for CEC even before I graduate kasi sobrang swerte namin ;D

Thanks for the well wishes! I do my best to contribute here since dito din sa thread na ito ako natuto. Pag na PR na kamiplease, grant us oh, Lord), obviously, share ko pa din how we did it. IT feels good that we submitted it, pero it's 10 times na mas nakakakaba compared to waiting for the PPR of student visa ;D

if the timeframe is a couple of months i dont think it would matter kasi hindi naman na kagaya before na you are not allowed to work in your first 6 months as an international student. its a good thing they changed that in june of 2014.

Thanks for the info. Didn't even know there was a rule like that that existed before ;D There's this guy also who "volunteered" working for a car dealership I think while studying and got deported too because a jealous co-worker found out and told on him(not clear about the whole story but I just read it somewhere while I was starting here) ;D

Anyways, it was just my opinion regarding the matter and I'm in the side of "nandito ka na, konting tiis na lang, mag risk ka pa ba?". It's up to people how adventurous they are. Also, for those planning, don't entirely depend on the option of working part time. Make sure you have atleast 6 months worth of funds to survive while you settle in para you won't be pushed into doing something risky.

Happy Easter po! The Lord has risen and by His grace may we reach our goals!

Hi everyone!

Question.
Unsai usual/average timeline sa mga applicants this 2017?
Muabot ba ug 2 months-3months ang visa result for students?

If my intake is September 2017, would JUNE 1st week be okay to lodge the application?

Thanks everyone :)

Hi periwinkleblue! Similar to the advice given to me here, the earlier you apply, the better. I was told that to apply 4 to 5 months before your intake would be ideal. The current processing time is 8 weeks but that is an average and estimate, not a guarantee. You have to give your application enough time to deal with any unexpected delays. Of course, there are always exceptions and some people have gotten their visas in such a short time. :)

Hi guys newbie here. Just want to ask if is it ok na magopen na ng bank account online bago pumunta ng Canada para less hassle daw pagdating sa immigration. Anyone here na nakapagtry na before flight nila sa Canada. Thanks sa reponse. :)

To open a Canadian bank account even a joint account you have to be physically in the bank.
So, No, you cannot open a bank account from overseas.

Hello! I have similar concern before. Mine was about bringing bankdraft upon entry para hindi na magdala ng maraming cash while travelling. Nabasa ko rin to sa forum before, i cant remember who posted. My research lead me to these websites.

http://www.scotiabank.com/ca/en/0,,4362,00.html

http://thetechiemom.com/scotiabank-startright-program-experience/

I havent try it though, nasa application process p lang ako ngayon. I emailed the blogger and she said, she had a good experience daw wih BPI and scotiabank. So, i guess it worked for her.

Any thoughts on this? Thanks!

If you were applying online no need for you to print and sign the form, just validate it then save , then upload.

Hello!

I think you can open a Scotiabank account from the Philippines... you can back read here and see that somebody did it. I was supposed to do it but I opened in Canada when I visited a year before I applied for student visa. At the port of entry, chamba chamba lang kasi yung mga nauna sa akin is hinanapan ng kung ano ano documents. Ako nag smile lang and hawak ko papers ko pero hindi naman hiningi
