Hi Guys

First of all, Isa ata to sa longest thread? haha anyway.. I would like to ask for any advice and Ideas on a Student Permit/Visa application

My infos are:
1. Student Visa application for Flying school at Langley Flying School
2. I was able to submit all basic application forms and documents
3. Last April 6 they requested for my NBI Clearance and I submitted it last April 8
4. We have enough funds. Currently I'm working at a Bank as an account officer (Assistant Manager Rank) - Malayo sa flying school but I think normal ata yun? any ideas?

Please share your ideas or experiences? Advance thank you guys! ;D ;D ;D

Oh nagsubmit pala ako ng application last March 1, Target date ko ay July 4 (start ng school)

Thank you!
Why are you asking for an advice or an idea if you already submit your application?
What you can do now is keep waiting for the decision.
Nothing is going to change.

My view on this is...
DENIED
Because your current education does not match up with the course that you will take in Canada.

Update us if I'm correct or not.

Hopefully sa SOP mo you stated two important things

1. Why you shifted from banking to aviaion
2. Why canada and not sa Pilipinas ka nag aviation

Also things to consider, how likely are you to get a job as a pilot after (if thats your goal) and what are your backup plans after incase things dont work out. Idk kasi how it works pero sa NZ to be a CP you have to be a resident or citizen dun to fly with air new zealand.

Just to add though, you could get a job as a pilot who flies for tours/farms and etc cause the western world has so many of those kind of opportunities.

Many of my friends are from banking as well or different course but eventually pursued aviation
I chose canada since timeframe is wayway faster there compared here in PH. 3to4 years here in PH. 1year in canada. Also Commercial pilots from other countries could apply here in PH as long as I pass thr exam needed here after getting my license in canada.

Btw i dont think i was able to submit SOP . Maybe I could submit it now? Online?

You already have an application.

Be ready for your next reapplication with a good solid evidence and a whole lot of explanation.

The embassy doesnt care about your colleagues kasi d naman sila ang nag aapply ikaw kasi haha. In some cases people (like me) can get by without an SOP because my course right now fits in with what I will study there. Ung problem mo kasi is they dont know what your motivation is to study in Canada unless you provide an SOP at the same time of your application. Though anything is possibility, maganda na maging realistic ka sa expectations mo because applying to get a visa is not like going lang somewhere you need to carefully plan, document, and explain areas that could potentially be the cause for your denial.

While you still have time, read the forum and formulate na ur SOP with those answers to those basic questions I asked you. Add mo na din ung incentive or proof na uuwi ka after mo mag aral para mas matatag case mo.

Who knows, it might be accepted! Remember, there was someone here who didn't even have 25% of his tuition fee as proof of funds and even said that he wanted to work in the country after he graduates and he got approved ;D Maybe there's a way to email cic to upload an SOP?

Commercial po muna tayo, humihingi po ako ng mga panalangin ninyo dahil kaka submit lang po namin ng application namin for PR. Sana po lahat ng mga natulungan ko ay ipag dasal ang application namin! :)

Though (my own opinion lang) i think if they ask for ur NBI na it means good stuff is happening, pero mas maganda din kasi ung d ka nag eexpect kesa nag eexpect ka :) tama naman sinabi ni micmic minsan it is a matter of luck, some VO's are probably lenient compared to the others. Best wishes though sana ma accept ka para maka join ka sa bandwagon.

@Mic-mic good luck yo sana tuloy tuly na yan.

@peej congratulations and all the best sa Canada

Hi kapatid!

From what I gather kasi, attending a DLI does not necessarily mean you will be eligible for PGWP because the DLI # means the school is eligible to accept international students and therefore recognized by CIC, but it does not necessarily mean that the programs offered by the DLI will be eligible for post grad work permit.

I agree with you that it is not about whether you get a degree or not because you can be eligible for PGWP after completing a certificate or diploma course but only if from a public school.

From the CIC website: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/work-postgrad-who.asp

In addition, you must have graduated from:
- a public post-secondary institution, such as a college, trade/technical school, university or CEGEP (in Quebec), or
- a private post-secondary institution that operates under the same rules and regulations as public institutions, or
- a private secondary or post-secondary institution (in Quebec) offering qualifying programs of 900 hours or longer leading to a diplôme d’études professionnelles (DEP) or an attestation de spécialisation professionnelle (ASP), or
- a Canadian private institution authorized by provincial statute to confer degrees but only if you are enrolled in one of the programs of study leading to a degree as authorized by the province and not in all programs of study offered by the private institution.

Before po kasi, I was accepted into the Montessori Training Center of British Columbia and while they are recognized as a DLI, they are a private institution and only have certificate courses. I also looked at MTI Community College, Stenberg College, Sprott-Shaw, but read about some people who had their PGWP applications rejected due to their programs.

All I'm saying po is that through this forum, I learned about these issues so to lessen the risk, I changed plans and tried to apply in a diploma program in a public post-secondary institution. I will be the first to admit that I am not an expert at this and could be mistaken, which is why I opted to take the "less-risky" route and attend a pubic school.
good points. well researched.

Ninja is risky and might be better to wait for a while, get a driver's license, look for job prospects first, study how a resume and interview is done here, etc. Andito ka na so ingat ingat din. Reason why I say this is because somebody got caught here and sayang naman :( This was in 2013 though and the info came from my cousin (katrabaho niya yung nahuli na international student din). ;D
if the timeframe is a couple of months i dont think it would matter kasi hindi naman na kagaya before na you are not allowed to work in your first 6 months as an international student. its a good thing they changed that in june of 2014.
