I did not know na we need a separate TRV if we wanted to go home on holidays. Akala ko the Student Visa is enough para makalabas pasok sa Canada. Huhuhuhuhu!!!! Pero I read somewhere na students can apply for TRV within Canada, is this correct?

I am currently working on my admission at VCC (Vancouver Community College). After receiving my LOA, I will immediately apply for my student permit.

QUESTIONS:

1. Will my mother be eligible as my dependent? She can accompany me, right?

2. If yes, will I submit her application as TRV along with mine (student permit)?

3. What documents she needs to submit with the application? Does she needs to submit her credentials as well? Or just her financial documents, NBI, letter of explanation and up front medical test results?

We are planning to submit our application on August. I am on January intake.

Dbc wala eh. Nagtanung kase ako sa vfs. Paper based ako eh. Wala daw ako matatanggap na email kase kasama daw sa passport ko un. Is this correct?

Hmmm.... No, remember paper based din kame, but I think the email was sent to your representative. Why don't you check w/ her:-)
Also, I think I've read it somewhere in the forum na same case like yours, they didn't receive any email (loi) but got approved. :-)

Hi! Based on my knowledge, your mother is not eligible as your dependent (family refers to spouse, common law partner & kids). She needs to submit a separate application - as visitor.

dbc WAAAAAHHHHH kinakabahan nako. gaano katagal bago nyo natanggap passport nyo from the time na passport dispatched

Actually, yung visa na ibibigay nila is TRV may note lang na dapat may student permit na kasama. Yung TRV naman multiple entry so that means you could just go home anytime and come back to Canada as long as valid pa permits mo. :)

As an international student, can I return home or travel outside Canada during my studies?

If you leave Canada and want to return, you must have:

a valid passport or travel document;
a valid study permit if you are returning to study in Canada; and
a valid temporary resident visa, if you are a citizen of a country or territory whose citizens require visas in order to enter Canada as visitors.
You must re-apply for a temporary resident visa (commonly known as an entry visa) if:

your previous visa has expired; or
your previous visa was only valid for a single entry to Canada.

Hi ice! Hehe who is ice? I cant find her comment regarding that. Huhuhu. Anyway I found this and I will print this just incase maharang kami sa POE:

Minor children in Canada
Minor children who are already in Canada accompanying a parent who is permitted to study or work may study in Canada without a study permit at the pre-school, primary and secondary levels.
