@ DocRZ: Wuhooo, so happy for you Doc! Enjoy Toronto before class starts, this is the time to celebrate! :D

@ amiel.santiago: Will be praying for your application! Hope that everything works out :)

Btw, my passport just arrived a few hours ago! Thank you Lord for my miraculous application process! And it was delivered by 2Go, just in case you guys are still wondering ;D

Congrats, humdrumdum! Ü

For those who are still applying, I just checked the average processing times for Manila and it's down to 11 weeks (dati kasi 15 then naging 13). So kahit papano the files are moving, even there's a strike. Shemps, hoping it would be sooner than 11 weeks Ü

WOOHOO! CONGRATS HUMDRUMDUM! BILIS TLGA NG SAYO. EXCITED NA RIN AKO SA BC ADVENTURE MO.

DOCRZ, KAMUSTA YUNG INTERVIEW SAU NG IMMIG OFFICER? I'LL BE LEAVING SOON TOO. BUTI D NAANTALA NI MARING BYAHE MO. CONGRATS DOC! D NA TA TAU MAGJJAMMING BEFORE U START SCHOOL. TSK! ANYHOW, CONGRATS DOC! :)

YEAH, DOWN NA TALAGA FROM 15-13-11 WEEKS NA LNG. BUMIBILIS ANG PINAS! ;)

mdladybug, sandali lang naman ang interview. Wala pang 5 minutes. Almost midnight na kasi ako dumating kaya pagod na ang immigration officer at hindi na nag-usisa. Tinanong nya lang kung gaano katagal ang studirs ko. Sabi ko, if I can pass mu PhD candidacy examination, then it's 4 years, otherwise' just 2 years. Then she gave me a permit until the expiration of my visa in 2017.

magiging problem kaya kung ang proof of funds ko eh pension ng father ko dito sa pinas? ang laman ng account niya ngayon is 200k more than the required funds.

Hi rave21lala. 200,000 is pesos or dollars? If pesos, maliit po ang 200k. Minimum is tuition fee (around $15,000) plus $10,000 as cost of living. Dapat meron kang liquid funds worth 1.5M pesos. If you have funding, maliit pa rin kasi you have anticipate cost of visa application and airfare.

DocRZ, for tuition and cost of living i need CAD24,000. actually aabot naman ng 1.5M pesos yung funds namin pwede na kaya yun?

Hi rave21lala, 1.5M should be more than enough Ü You don't have dependents naman going with you right?

Rave21lala, sorry pero I don't get it. Para saan po ang 200k na pension ng parents mo if you have enough funding naman pala na 1.5M?

DocRZ, ang ibig ko po kasing sabihin sa una kong post, yung laman ng pension account ng father ko is may sobrang 200k lang sa required amount for the tuition and cost of living. yung kailangan kong amount is CAD24,000, equivalent to peso is roughly 1,005,000 (depends on the exchange rate). ang laman ng account niya now is 1.2M kaya may sobrang 200k. ang tinatanong ko don is kung ok lang ba kahit ganon lang yung sobra although in my own account, i have 300k. pero ang ipapasa ko lang if ever na bank cert is yung sa kanya lang.

rave21lala, as long as you have the minimum requirement, then i don't think it should be an issue. :) good luck with your application!

Ah... Ok, got it. So the account is under your parents'? And the source of the money is their pension, right? Is the pension at the moment their only source of income? Better to include other assets kasi pension is not a good source of income for someone who is sponsoring a student in Canada.

Hi!

I applied Study Permit Visa way back sept last year, and I was rejected 4 times already. Earlier this year (march 2013) I applied again and this time, they considered my application. I already had my medical last march 7, and the medical was forwarded april 1. Ever since I havent heard a word from the canadian embassy in manila. its been 4 months and 3 weeks since the medical was submitted to the embassy. I'm starting to lose hope :(

Hi, have you tried contacting the embassy? Your case is way out of the specified processing time. Baka natabunan lang yung file mo.

Hi Patricia, welcome to the forum! :)

Was your application paper-based or online? Have you tried following up during the 4 month period? You have more than enough reason to have done so, but maybe it got caught up with the PIASI applications...
