This refers to your electronic mail requesting for information on our existing rules on cross border transfer of currencies. In this regard, please be advised that under Section 4.2 of the Manual of Regulations on Foreign Exchange Transactions, as recently amended by Circular No. 922 (effective 15 September 2016), any person may bring into or take out of the Philippines foreign currency, as well as other foreign currency denominated bearer monetary instruments. However, for amounts in excess of US$10,000 or its equivalent, these should be declared in writing using the prescribed “Foreign Currency and Other FX-Denominated Bearer Monetary Instruments Declaration Form” which is available at the BOC desk in the arrival/departure areas of all international airports and seaports.
