Anyone applied a Student Permit from Philippines?

Hi.. Ung letter of support from my husband hindi notarized, sa proof of funds ko i just submitted his Company Letter that includes the amount of his salary and his 4 months bank statement.


But yung letter to support for my accommodation from my brother who lives in Canada, notarized siya from Canada itself.

Fingers Crossed, I am still waiting for my result 5 weeks na ako waiting and here in AUH 6 weeks yung processing time.

Yung letter to support for your accommodation sa brother mo, dun ka ba sa kanya mismo titira o sa ibang lugar ka pero sya magbibigay ng panggastos sa accommodation mo?

ah okay, thank you. may sister din kasi ako sa ontario, kaso yung course na gusto ko wala dun sa school na malapit sa kanya. iniisip ko tuloy kung pwede syang mag-sponsor sa accomm ko kahit di ako titira sa kanya. good luck sa application mo!

I've been looking for afforable ticket.. any advise?
need po ba ng round trip ticket pa dn kahit 2 yrs study? Coz i've heard ang validity ng ticket for 1 yr lng daw po sabi ng mga ticketing agents.. how did everyone go about it po? Or ok lng b na one way lng?

1 way ticket cost about $1,000 if you book early its probably lower.
You only need 1 way ticket. basta makarating ka lang sa port of entry. Di ka naman nila hihingan ng ticket back home.

Hi Nareceive ko ang LOA ko within one week from GBC.Sa SEneca more than a month bago ko narecieve, luckily GBC talaga ang prefer ko so doon n ako ng enrol. anyway hnd p naman ganun ka tagal paghihintay mo, chill k Lang. Ano ba intake mo

Ang intake ko po kasi October 30, inenroll ko din po kais yung ESL for 8 Weeks and then after ng ESL and kukunin ko pong program ay Architectural Technician for 2 years.
Paano ko po ba malalaman ang status ng application ko? naglologin po kasi ako sa website nila under international application eto po ang nakikita ko lang "Application Progress: Submitted"

Hello po sa mga nagsi-search pa lang ng mapapasukan.

In case po you want to study and take this opportunity as a stepping stone to stay sa Canada for good, advice ko lang sa aspirants na sa university po kayo mag-enroll instead of college or institutes. Iba iba pala ang distinction nila dito ng "university, college and institute" (di ko to nabasa through backreading).

First, sa Canadian culture pala ay mas prestigious sa kanila pag university ka graduate kesa sa college or institute. Sa atin kasi parang pareho lang college at university pero dito sa North America, university is more bongga and may dating sa resume (e.g. Harvard University, Yale University, Princeton University, Oxford University, Cambridge University).

College is more maliit na unit (for example, sa Pinas, College of Saint Benilde versus De La Salle University). Ang institute naman ay more on short courses or particular skills. A university is composed of colleges so smaller unit ang college.

So kung may plan po kayo mag-aral ng mahabaan din lang, look for Universities para mas maganda sa resume pag naghahanap na kayo ng work. Hindi ko naman sinasabi na nila-"lang" lang ang mga college and institutes pero for example, Canadian employer ka and may dalawang pagpipilian - isang graduate sa university for Business Admin versus isang graduate sa college/institute for a Business course, mas pipiliin nila ung galing sa Uni versus sa isa (or maybe offered higher).

Kung may degree na kayo sa Pinas, meron naman tinatawag na "Recognition of Prior Learning" dito sa Canada, meaning, i-aassess nila yung pinag aralan nyong degree sa Pinas, then iko-compute kung ilang units pa ang kulang mo to get a degree in the Canadian university (therefore hindi full 4 years or 3 years tuition ang babayaran mo). Ang sample ng mga gantong assessors ay IQAS in Alberta (google it).

Anyway, friendly advice lang po. I just learned this kasi I'm taking a short French course dito sa Canada and mga kaklase ko is local Canadians and sa kanila ko natutunan na ganun pala impressions nila sa mga university/college/institute.

Pero kung babalik naman kayo sa Pinas after studies then ok din lang. Sakin lang is, magbabayad ka na lang din ng mas mahal, pay it sa mas worth it na. Habol po sa fall term - abot pa

Nag enrol na po aq at nagbayad na rin ng registration fee na 95dollars. Naisubmit ko rin ang application ko last week at nakareceived na rin po ako ng student number sa email address ko.
Need ko po bang iemail sila at itanong kung ano ang status ng application ko?
