Just want to check lng po if meron dito nag apply ng Study visa sa Vancouver? Anong school?

Thank you
Hi, I'm new here as well and back reading some posts. I haven't send applications yet but 3 options, SFU, Capilano and BSCIT in Vancouver. Kulang pa ng IELTS eh.. Have you applied already? What school in Van? TIA :)

Hi everyone!

I'm trying to schedule my Academic IELTS. Originally, I would have wanted to take it at British Council but the date I want is already full. So, I am consideing IDP. From what I know, please correct me if I'm mistaken, they use the same materials with British Council from Cambridge, right? I read somewhere that they also share a pool of interviewers for the speaking test. Any feedback on IDP?

Also, I am trying to apply for Fall 2017 intake. With the 8 week student visa processing times, is it safe to apply by mid June? I know it's a tight schedule but I was thinking, I can get my study permit (in theory, if God willing) by end of July/ early August which will hopefully give me enough time to re-apply (in case of rejection) or fly in time to September start of class? I'm planning to do my medical upfront to help with the very tight timelines. :-[
Better question is does your school requires you to have a language exam to be accepted at the school?
Some school doesn't require them.
You might not need a language exam.

Sa mga natanggap sa Centennial College or nag-aaral doon ngayon, I have a question lang regarding their acceptance:

Do they really require you to pay the tuition deposit before they actually give you your Letter of Acceptance?

Anybody else who has experienced this? Huhu

This information is helpful because it's not on any of the links you sent. So, thank you for this first hand information. :)

IDP and British Council are basically the same - I don't think it makes any difference. They said mas mahirap daw British Council pero I got a high score naman .... so I don't think there's a big difference.
Why are you waiting pa for mid-June? It IS possible pero you never know ... apply as soon as you can would be my advice :)
I went ahead and booked my IDP exam because I want to have it as soon as possible. I'm waiting until June because that's the latest I might be able to get everything together. Originally, I was meant to apply for Spring 2018 intake after getting an email confirmation from the school that this is possible. Last week, when I started processing my early application already (through Education Planner BC) I had problems so after contacting the school again, they apologized because they gave me the wrong information and that in fact, my program only has a Fall intake. Hassle. So now, it's a frenzied rush to try and get everything together in the earliest possible time. So yes, definitely not the ideal situation and I would have wanted more time to apply but it is what it is and you just have to deal with the cards you're dealt. Saklap lang. :(

Yes, I need a language test to attend Capilano University. I could forgo the language test but that means I have to take the EAP stream and take extra classes. Sayang naman if I can avoid to take extra classes din pala.

Thank you all for the replies. You're all such a helpful bunch! ;)

Don't worry - the fact that they are corresponding with you means you are (almost!) accepted, the LoA is just a formality.
Let me tell you a secret, most colleges won't turn away applicants ... it's not like a Master's degree or even like our local universities na stringent acceptance.

I've tried to recall the way I applied - honestly di ko na maalala kung ano yung nauna. Sorry, matanda na hehe.

I think you are worrying yourself for no reason. If you have decided on going to Centennial na, go for it. Also, if you cannot push through with your enrollment for some reason, you can always get a refund. They are pretty good when it comes to that.

P.S. DLI is designated learning institution, meaning the school is among the institutions where graduates qualify for a post grad work permit

Nyay!! Well, good luck! If everything is okay, I don't think it will take the full eight weeks naman. Hope you can get here in time!

oh yay! thank you so much for this hehe... super nakakarelieve!!! :)
sige sige will start processing this.. hopefully maapprove ang visa..

i have one question pala (sorry super kulit na huhu):
Since college graduate ako dito, I applied either for postgraduate or postsecondary / college diploma sa Centennial.. I asked the college and they told me I can get accepted into either pero I just have to choose.

Well anjan lahat ng info for processing times if not search mo sa cic website, dont get too fixated sa 8weeks processing times which cic mentions na it is only an estimate of previous applications and doesnt necessarily mean ganon din sa application mo and nagbabago yun weekly. How much more kapag nareject in a very tight schedule na wala ng remedyo for reapplication.

ChrisYu_ said:

Unless you can give them a convincing letter of explanation.

Hi Seniors.

Yes, unless you will have a very convincing letter of explanation.

Nyay talaga, nakaka-tense! Thanks for the positive vibes though! Hope you enjoy the rest of the week. Balita ko, spring has finally started there ah. :)

Hi everyone! Quick question, St. Luke's extension clinics do not accept credit cards as payment, right? Just confirming since there are some pages on their website that mention this but I just wondering if this information is updated. Thank you! :)
