Anyone applied a Student Permit from Philippines?

Hi! Are you in Canada right now as a tourist? As far as I know, as a tourist you are only limited up to 6 months stay in Canada. Are you overstaying?
On applying student permit, you can apply only outside of the Canada premises, I think. You can drop your application in the US border.

Hi Blairxxx, I was approved for an extended stay of almost a year as a visitor. As for the student permit, I will be submitting my application via the Los Angeles visa application centre. Sabi ng ibang nakausap ko, slim daw ang chance ma-approve pag nag apply from within Canada unlike pag sa atin sa Pinas nag apply. Pero wala pa talaga akong nakausap na may same situation as mine.

I'm planning to lodge my application kasi by August.Base kasi sa mga nabasa ko sa forum,3-4 mos ung kukunin na bank history,so kung August ako maglalodge,ung history na kukunin sa bank account ko is from April-July?Tama ba ako.Salamat

Yes pero if you can ask the bank to put the date of opening ng account (esp. If matagal na yung account mo) sa bank certificate mas ok

Marami po bang work sa Vancouver?? I don't have any relatives there po and I have to really rely on myself para maka find ng work.

ilang weeks/months kayo nag land sa Canada before mag start classes ninyo?
End of June pa start ng class ko but I want to leave sana by mid May - after the elections.

Also, did they inquire about proof of funds at the POE - cash, cheque, etc? did you bring beyond the CAD 10,000 limit?

ako less than a month. Ang alam ko pwede nman less than 3 months magland eh. proof of funds? hindi naman ako tinanung ng immigration officer. You are only allowed to bring less than 10, 000 CAD.

Paper based po yung sakin. We passed it through VFS Cebu and yes single applicant po ako.

Yung na pass po namin na financial documents is mine and my parents po.

Yung requirements naman that I submitted are:
1. Original Passport
2. Letter of Acceptance from the school
3. Personal Study Plan
4. Proof of Studies (TOR, diplomas, certificates from seminars and trainings<I also made a summary>)
5. Proof of financial support (we submitted certifications and bank statements)
6. Parent's ITR
7. Parent's employment reference
8. Parent's support letter
8. NBI Certificate
9. Certificate of employment
10. Document Checklist for Study Permit (IMM 5836 and imm 5483)
11. Printed a copy of the school's Admission and Registration Fees
12. Official Receipt of payment info from the school
13. Birth Certificate
14. Application for study permit (IMM 1294)
15. Family Information (IMM 5707)
16. Use of Representative (IMM 5476)
17. Photocopy of Passport
18. Two Photos
