Hi leOwlery! It's nice to see that another one has come forward with a pending decision for the January intake. So far, it seems that 3 of us (including you) had our medicals completed and submitted around the same time, with no word yet from the Embassy. Just curious, were your medicals done at SLEC too?leOwlery said:Hi! ;D I stumbled on this forum when I was Googling other sources for Canadian student visa processing times in the Philippines.
I'm glad to see that there are a few other people who are in the same boat as I. I've been nervously waiting for Canadian Immigration to get back to me because I've registered for classes this coming January. The stress and nerves have been calmed a bit after seeing your stories and encouragement of each other.^_^ I don't actually have a question or query, but just in case other people come upon this forum (like I did) and would like to see how other applications I've developed, I'll post my details here too. :3
Applied Online: November 8, 2014
Notified to Accomplish Medical Exam: November 10, 2014
Completed and Submitted Medical Exam: November 11, 2014
Medical Exam Passed: November 22, 2014
As of this post, my visa status is still pending so I don't know yet if they've begun the final decision. However, I am hoping beyond hope that a miracle occurs and, should I be approved, for their approval to arrive before December 20 so I have time to send my passport through VAC and get it back. My school has given me a deadline of December 23 to let them know if my visa has been rejected or delayed as I've already paid tuition and they will refund my sponsor if I can't make it in January.
So that's my situation! I'd be interested in hearing from anyone else who is also waiting for their visa results and just as nervous as I am. x)

I am in Canada on a Student Visa, Husband on OWP and 7yr old daughter on TRV. The school never asked for her study permit.dUNE said:Can a minor child go to school in Canada without a study permit?
Read about these changes and how they may impact you.
Generally, minor children need to apply for a study permit from outside of Canada, if they want to go to study in Canada. However, a minor child can go to school without a study permit if:
•one parent (biological or adoptive) is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident; or
•one parent (biological or adoptive) is permitted to study or work in Canada; or
•neither parent is physically in Canada.

Please keep us updated when you hear from them, just to see if student visa applications are even being worked on. I hope we all hear from them before the holiday vacation, so that we don't have to re-schedule intakes, re-book flights, etc.
Praying for good news, cheers!
