I have a quick question for those who applied / filed for their visas na. How much did you pay your school initially when you filed your application? First semester fees lang ba, o 1 year fees?

Naco-confuse kasi ako dahil sa LOA ko, they are just asking me to pay a $2600 deposit and that is enough na daw for filing the student visa application. Pero marami dito sabi dapat 1st sem fees daw ang bayaran.

Please help! thanks in advance!

Hello everyone! Been following this forum eversince I resigned last June :). Read lost of success stories and I must say, very inspiring..
I am planning to apply din, nasa stage ako ng choosing the right course/diploma. I am a BS Computer Science graduate but I wasn't able to practice it then, the next thing I know, ang career path ko is sales/business management na.. My consultant tells me na magpursue ng course in I.T, wag na daw business course. Isip ko lang, baka the VO will hold it against me considering na di ko nga sya prinactice here sa Pinas and yet, I am studying it again.
Any thoughts on this?
Thanks!
:)

Hi scorpio1614. If I'm right Centennial College ka? The 2600 is to hold your spot kasi alam ko limited un, and you are right pede ka na mag-file ng studen permit. But It is better to pay the 1st semester or much better the whole year, for visa approval din kasi makakatulong sya. :)

Hi NurseK12! :) I applied at Centennial College in Toronto. I bet ito yung school partner ng agency ko, kasi dito nila ko sinuggest. I am not really sure anout colleges in Alberta, but I can give you this link from the cic.gc website which provides the list of the designated institution in each province. Try mo na lang mag-inquire check their website under tuition information for international students, usually may mga info about that.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/study-institutions-list.asp

Hope you find this helpful. :)

Thanks, Hopefulgirl08! :) I'll pay the $2,600 fee by the deadline then pay off my first year tuition before I file for my student visa. You're right - sa Centennial ako, Global Business Management program. Sa Centennial ka rin ba?

Hi Blessedmom. Regarding your concern, ilang years na ang work experience mo in sales / business management? Kasi usually they do advise to get a course na related sa pinag-aralan mo kasi many visas are denied due to course mismatch. However, kung mahaba na rin yung experience mo in sales / business management, you can still try for a business course just justify your course by writing a good statement of purpose.

Hi scorpio1641. :) pay mo na lang the first year. Kasi ako i just paid the 1st semester derecho, no more $2,600 fee. Tho i think if you do that, madeduct din naman sya sa tuition mo. They'll issue your LOA and payment receipt once you made the payment. For you not to ask another LOA, bayad ka na lang derecho ng 1 yr. less waiting time. :) And yes, centennial din ako! :)

I paid for the 1st semester, I think most people applied paid the same, it's better to pay off the 1st sem nalang to be sure, as it will be indicated on your LOA.
All the best :)

Hello blessedmom! In my opinion, I think it's a matter on how the course will strongly relate to what you are doing now and what you will do in the future? I think it is not just how the course is related to your previous course that really matter, what also matter is that why you are taking the course? how relevant is this course to what you do now? and how this course will help you in your future plans when you come back here in the Philippines? You should be able to explain this and state this on your SOP/ Study plan or letter of explanation. In short whatever course you choose, make a strong SOP to justify that is important.

Hi nursek12, anong course plan mo kunin? I suggest you 1st exhaust Google sa may schools and courses available sa Alberta for intl students, pls take note na some courses/schools are not available for intl applicants. Be mind tho na kelangan designated learning institution ang aaplyan mo. Also, when you click on those schools' website, meron na rin list of tuition fees for intl students. Another, try to take note of their reqs and other stuff needed for admission. Btw, d2 dn ako sa Alberta.

Student visa application only costs $150. Dpende dn sa school pero most schools nagpapadown ng around 250 - 300 to secure the slot. Meron din nagpapabayad ng whole 1st sem tuition, others pay for the whole year.

Hi sweetnovember14! Thanks for these tips. Will will surely keep this in mind when I am in the stage of making my SOP. :) Nga pala, need pa ba ipa assess yung TOR/Diploma sa WES or para lang yun sa immigrant?

@scorpio1641 Sa ontario ka rin pala.. I will browse nga rin yung Centennial College, sana may course na available in IT. :) Naku, lahat ng work experience ko involve retail sales. Though later part ng career ko, around 3 years, nasa middle management position na ako. All in all, nasa 7 years experience na rin.

@wondergirl1992 Congrats! Sana we will also be blessed with a visa soon.. :)
