Hi everyone. Me and my Dominicano are applying for residency. I'm a Canadian citizen and he he's here in Canada as a visitor. We are applying from within Canada since he is here aling with our 18 month old son. Has anyone applied from within Canada? Can I file for an extended stay once I submit his application?

You can file for an extension on his visitor visa, even before you file his application.

My wife is landing in Toronto on Aug. 2nd. Everything is order except I am not certain about some of the medical questions etc. Her medical was fine and done in time, but are we supposed to have all vaccination information, and all of her minor surgery reports? I thought just landing with an approved medical was sufficient. Has anyone had to supply other medical reports and vaccinations?

was she advised to provide that medical information?

No she wasn't but I was reading in the section of what to bring to Canada with you and I read somewhere that they may want proof of vaccinations etc? Can't recall where but as long as no one else had to voluntarily supply this type of information, I guess she will be OK. Thanks for the quick response SB414

It would always be good information to have with her for the future. Depending on what kind of job she has here, sometimes vaccination records are required. If she has that information available, it is a bonus!

My husband arrived last month, and it was quite simple. He showed the Canadian customs agent his landing documents and he had to go to immigration to complete his landing. They confirmed his address in Canada, asked if his marital status has changed and asked if he had been in trouble with the law, then he signed a couple of things. He was able to get his sin number on the spot, and lots of pamplets about life in Canada. Very easy process

I just want to notify anyone who is interested, we proactively redid our medical because we knew it was expired. Although the immigration officer (interviewer) advised my husband he would have to redo it (for the 3rd time), we messaged the Mexican visa office and they are going to accept the one we pro actively did. (No need to do a new one). .. I just wish I had proactively sent them this second medical instead of waiting for instructions

I sent the medical yesterday, and got PPR today...
Feeling overwhelmed, but happy.
Surprised the process is actually moving.

Send them an urgent message and say that the photos were received by whoever on what date.
They did similar things like that to us, saying they didn't receive it.
