Any TRV applications within Canada??

I am in a similar situation, this is my timeline:

10 November - applied for a TRV (paper)
12 November - passport received by Visa Office
25 December - Still waiting...

It has been more than a month and I already cancelled my flight back home for Xmas.

My TRV timeline:

Applied online on 17th Nov
Request for passport on 25th Nov
Sent passport to cic on 27th Nov
Approved and case closed on 13th Dec
Received passport on 24th Dec

FYI, I used regular post for sending and receiving my passport.

9 December- applied for a TRV (paper)

31 December-received passport

18th Nov- paid online and sent application by courier.
20th Nov- Paper application reached Ottawa.
22nd Dec- Visa given (after 30days)
29th Dec- Passport with visa received at hand by Canada express post.
Total days- 39days (14 days shown online which is not correct at all)

You have to make a MyCIC account online. You can then apply online through that account. Also you can pay the $100 application fee online through credit card.

Can you please advise which forms I have to fill for online application. I have already got my work permit extended by an year through BOWP.

Is it IMM5708 - Application to Change Conditions, Extend my Stay or Remain in Canada as a Visitor or a Temporary Resident Permit Holder
