Hi

I am planning to apply for Express Entry-FSW Program.
I had taken IELTS Aademic last year and the score is still valid.
My score is 8.5 overall.
Can I apply with the academic module score or do I need to take general?
Having to compulsorily take General does not sound logical since the academic module is anyways tougher.

Anyone who has applied and has been accepted with the Academic score?
Pls. help

Listening and Speaking modules are the same for Academic and General Training, while Reading and Writing are different for both. The reason being for Academic, reading and writing are more focused towards academic scenarios, reading and interpreting graphs, charts etc while for General Training it is mostly work related or daily general situations so that a candidate can operate in a English speaking environment.

But, in my honest opinion, it is like one more reason to make additional money. This is very similar to the expiry of IELTS results which does not sound logical to me. How can a person forget his English on the IELTS expiry date, as if he is gonna go into an English amnesia ;). Anyway, it is the requirement, so we have to follow it, no choice. :)

Is there a way to check if I need FBI PCC?
I have been to US for this period:
15.05.2007 - 21.08.2007 - 3 month 6 days
15.05.2008 - 30.09.2008 - 4 months 15 days

So this altogether makes 6 months but the CIC info is that it needs to be consecutive months of stay (6 in a row).

I have applied in december for fbi pcc but I will not get in time.
Should I add letter of explanataion or anything at all?

You need a FBI PCC, IMO. Per recent update, if you have stayed for 6 months in ANY country (except Canada), then you need a PCC. This stay need not be continuous. Since your entire stay > 6 months in the US, you do need FBI PCC.

Hello Brian,

I have following question:

I have received an invitation to apply for PR under Express Entry CEC. Today I went to complete my medical exam at one of the CIC approved physician in Surrey, British Columbia and did all tests as instructed by physician.

My question is, on an document that I received from clinic to upload in my application as medical test completion proof, they have mentioned the medical type = 'Worker', but when I talked to my friend who did the medical for the same purpose living in Ontario, his doc to upload is different than mine and on his doc from clinic, the medical type = 'Express Entry PR' has been written. Moreover my friend was also being asked to provide Express Entry PR application number by physician to enter it on doc that needs to be upload. To better confirm I called my clinic reception and asked them to make sure that my medical is done for CIC express entry PR and according to them it's good and they don't have any option like 'Express Entry PR' to select and they told me that it could be different for Ontario & BC. So will it make any difference to my application as i have heard sometimes CEC reject application if provided docs do not directly match with their required ones?

Thanks.

They would have mentioned something like Non-EDE - Worker. This is fine, IMO. As long as you told them that you have come for upfront medicals to be used along with a PR application, you are good to go. The process is not the same with all the clinics - operating procedures might be a little different with different clinics!

Good luck with your application!

When you get ITA and you fill all the details, there is a personalized document checklist generated where they specifically ask for each document. If US PCC is not mentioned (which will be the case you have not stayed in US for continuous 6 months), then you do not need to get FBI PCC. CIC clearly states the stay has to be continuous - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/invitations.asp

As you have not stayed in the US for 6 months continuously, you do not need to get FBI PCC. You can include this in the LOE for your peace of mind.

There is no specific format. Just write what is it that you are trying to explain clearly and once you are done, print and sign and scan. The content is up to the applicant, LOE is a facility to explain your application.

As 'darklord' says there is no specific format but here is what I included. Hope it helps you.

1) Copy of Working Visa and copy of Working Visa stamp in Passport
2) Copy of Language Test results
3) List of Academic documents which had only my first name and surname (not middle name) due to my University policy of only including 'First Name' and 'Surname' on academic documents
4) Details of my overseas address (and associated reference letters from my landlord)
5) Details of my Canadian address (and associated reference letters from my landlord)
6) Letters of 'Good standing' for the professional accounting bodies I am a member with (in Australia and in Canada)
7) Conclusive proof that I am intending to reside in a different part of the province I'm currently living in (due to my new office location)
8) Details of the 3 part-time accounting jobs I held for short duration (ie less than 3 months) and the fact that I worked less than 15 hrs in each of those jobs (hence reflected in 'Personal' rather than 'Work' history
9) Total work days in Canada and reference to the fact I only accepted my ITA after working for over '365' days in Canada
10) Date I became qualified to practice in this occupation as 'Date graduated from University' not 'Date I completed my CA' since this is the stipulated minimum qualification as stated in (NOC 1111). Also attached NOC 1111 for reference

11) Travel History broken down into the following:
- All countries traveled to
- Countries which had Entry & Exit stamp on the passport
- Countries which only had Entry but not Exit stamp on the passport
- Countries where passport not stamped at all
- Detailed Tour Itineraries for every country visited over the last 10 years

12) Reference to Australian Police Certificate and why I had it sent to my parents address in Australia for them to forward onto me (rather than sending to Canada) as I was working as an Auditor and travelling to Inter-Province clients and staying in hotels for the tenure of the audit. Also reference to the fact the PCC was issued after my last visit to Australia

If you have any questions please let me know.

PS - sorry I cannot do anything about the number (8) appearing as a Smiley face. I really don't know why this happens.

Hi ,

I have 2.7 years of experience ,so my question is how many points would I get under experience section out of 25.

If I wait till my completion of 3.0 years what would be my points(experience section out of 25) exactly on the day of 3rd year and after that

Thanks
