English and French are official language of Canada (Federal government) Quebec's official language is French only. The only bilingual province is New Brunswickchillito said:i guess this part of the constitution of Canada confused me s.16(1) - "English and French are the official languages of Canada"
And mind you, official language only refers to the language the government uses. There is no restriction of use of language of the people. From what I observe, high skilled jobs or service industry in Metro Montreal generally requires bilingual ability.
