Hello friends,

urgent need! Just today I received a request from VO. The inquiry is the following:
Passport:
 Please provide copies of the passport bio – page for yourself and each family member accompanying you to Canada. These should be the passports you will be submitting for visa issuance if a visa is granted and be valid for at least one year. Please note that ordinary passports are the only type of passports into which a permanent resident visa may be inserted. Diplomatic, official, and other special passports are not acceptable. This must be received at this office by: 2017/04/08

As all copies of my passport was included in my initial documents, now I have no idea why another one is requested! However my passport will be expired in August 2017! So do you think I must provide a new passport which be valid at least for one year!! Cos in Iran is going to be near new year holiday and I have no idea getting a new passport will take how long!
thank you!

Seems like the passport must be valid for at least one year and they sent this request to you to remind you to renew your passport and send them a new copy. But it's just my guess by looking at what they wrote to you. My husband's passport was to expire in July 2017 and he just renewed it and sent them an updated copy of his passport. They didn't request it but we decided to send it because it must be valid for at least one year.

Do you have another option to send somewhere else or based on your nationality you are tied into Ankara. I know they used to forward Iranian cases to Paris and Paris was a lot faster than Ankara for express entry.

Hi everyone! I know this is the FAM category but I was wondering if you guys new anyone waiting to hear from Ankara VO regarding Express Entry - FSW - OINP? I can't find anyone on the site, so I don't know if Ankara VO is slower than other visa offices or maybe its faster, I don't know. Thanks in advance

I didn't mean to discuss security but to ask questions that are related to security like the traveling history, jobs, activities, etc instead of asking about how the meet and marriage happened.

I doubt it, she was asked questions about their relationship and relatives, so it was part of eligibility. So seems like eligibility was the last thing they had to wrap up, weird because it's usually the very 1st thing on their list. Stage process might differ sometimes I guess.
I've never heard about security interviews, security is top secret and they won't reveal about their findings about you :(

As I was told, they asked her only about their relationship, how they met, their relatives and photos, which is all part of eligibility assessment)

Yes, I think so just at least I can be sure that there is no wrong in my application and they are working on it.

Hey! I am so happy for both of you :) Congrats! By the way, the interview was supposed to be on Friday, but in Iran we are still in Thursday. Just curious to know how it is possible; because our time is about 30 minutes ahead of Turkey!! ;D

Wish all of us get good news from Ankara soon, especially those guys who have waited really long.

So, they asked for new passport copies but they didn't ask for an updated police certificate? I just had my police certificate done in case they need a new one.

Also, it took me one week to change my passport (it was on June) but I have no idea how long it will take in this time of year. Maybe if you had enough time you could apply to get a new police certificate with your new passport too.

By the way, what is your application timeline? Mine was received by Mississauga office on Oct. 5, they had not updated us since mid November on ecas/mycic.
