Very sad news ! The backlog that they were able to clean up a little bit during 2 years would be the same now as before November 2011... Luckyly, I made fo my parents the multi entrance visa, so at least they could visit us a fe times in a year. Was actualy surprised that it took only 1 month to get a multi entrance visa with the strike (on a webiste they say it takes 140 days).

The good news that Canadian Embasy in Ankara has opened 2 Visa centers for issuing temporary visas (Istambul and Ankara) and will open 3 more in November 2013 (in Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkmenistan). That means, theoretically, they should start issuing permanent visa faster in Ankara after the strike...

My parents are going to apply for multi entrance visa as well. I have not done it before could you please help me? Did you apply online for multi entrance visa? How much money your parents showed? Did you show any financial support? what did you write for the purpose and invitation letter?
Did you attach more documents? Did your parents visit you before ? In my case it is going to be first time do you think it is better to apply single entry or multi?
Did you mention that they already have sponsor ship application in process? Please let me know if additional document will help to accelerate it?

How much money your parents showed? They need to show the bank statements
Did you show any financial support? Emloyment letter from employer, Notice of Assesments for 2012
what did you write for the purpose and invitation letter? To visit my family
Did you attach more documents? Yes, an invitation letter
Did your parents visit you before ? Yes, they did ( 2 times )
In my case it is going to be first time do you think it is better to apply single entry or multi? Single entry would be the best choice. But you can try the multi entrance visa as well. In worst case scanario, you will lose $150. The single entrance visa is $75
Did you mention that they already have sponsor ship application in process? Nope. There is no question aboit it in the application forms
Please let me know if additional document will help to accelerate it ? Your parents need to pickup the letters from the employer, bank etc. The have to showcase that they have a property, car etc. (that proofs that they will come back home from Canada)

I am the representative on my parents' application that is sitting in one of the officer's desk in Ankara since May of 2012. There has only been one communication by the office using my work email address. I am moving to another city and both my address and work email address are changing. I know it was a mistake to use my work email address in the forms. My question is how we should change them now? Has anyone tried changing address before? Should I make my inquiry using the following link?

I would send them an email and give a call to CIC Canada to double check with Customer Service what you should do in this case. I changed the address before I got approval from CIC Missisauga (Ont) and the agent of customer service recommended to send a fax with all new info.
