how did you get in as a visitor ? did you apply for a visitors visa ?
I think he had applied at the time that they had allowed Syrian residents who had spouses in Canada to apply for a visa due to the conditions in Syria. The Visa's at that time were issues within days. So I assume that is how he got his Visa :)

well i didn't plan to apply to a visitor visa, but once i head that my application is not in Damascus as i was told by my wife, i did.
I applied just before the closure of the Canadian embassy in Damascus. For humanitarian cause, Canada gave visa for Syrian residents in just one day at that time.
I've been in Canada twice before, maybe that was a factor too in this as i was granted the visa while have pr application in progress.

i am a house husband now :p
i really feel like i am burden on my wife cause she goes to work and i watch tv cus i dont want to apply to study at college which would triple my high spending already

Also I have heard that if your in Canada and applied for a PR outside Canada, when you finally get your PR visa, you have to exit and reenter Canada to make it official ... have you heard this as well ?
that might happen. i called the cic many times (good thing not the same agent always answering the phone :p )
i've been told, once its done, i will get ppr just like everyone of you guys and when i receive my passport with pr visa on, they will figure what to do.
its not gonna be a problem, specially i live few miles from the US border and when i get a pr visa getting to the us is as easy as it is.

I just contacted the Visa office in Amman, and of course the lady wouldn't transfer me to the Visa section. Second time I called, I was transferred and asked to make sure if my applicant can move from Damascus to Amman due to the violence happening and the lady said "He should email them, he should email them" then I replied "We emailed about 10 times with no reply...and again I got an answer of "He should email them, he should email them"..then I hung up...useless "B....." I'm so fed up with this retarded system.

My husband was in the same situation and I didnt get any help. However, I spoke to my lawyer and she said in his case a visitor visa is his best deal and he will recieve a reply within a week due to the violence in syria! You just have to fill the application with an invitation letter. Indicate in the invitation letter that you will support him and that you are worried for his safety!

The only reason I didnt continue with the visitor visa was because it got too dangerous where my husband lived and he returned to Iraq!

if received an invitation letter from spouse and applies for a visitor visa. in this case, its likely to get it because of humanitarian grounds vs the fact that its less likely for already applies pr to get a visitor visa.
however, you got nothing to lose but the fees because it doesn't affect you pr application at all.
good to hear from you guys ;)

As i observe. The Iranian applications had been transferred to Ankara and it was quite faster than Amman's. Maybe because the immigration visa office was there already. I hope as now the immigration office is settled in Amman, it would be as fast as Ankara's.
hope for the best good people

Ankara has the fastest processing time for the middle east, 6 months. They are processing PR's for 5 countries (Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iran, Turkey, Turkmenistan) in addition they also process business categories (only) for the following : Cyprus, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria.

I only hope Amman speeds up to their pace, since they deal with less
Inshallah
