Dear guyz,i ve a resident permit but i only stayed for a week when i first landed in canada.my husband was the principal applicant,we both travelled with our child,he stayed 1 month x left for our home country too.our permits will expire in feb 2013.i shd ve another baby by feb next year.i wldnt know if i would be able to make it to canada by then.if i deliver the baby here in my home country, what are the chances that i can travel with the baby when i intend to move finally to canada.thks

I think the chances are normal. You will need to apply for a family visa AKA 'Family-reunion' visa from your home country for your child. This is a straight froward process, usually it takes 4-6 months depending on the visa office. They request DNA test in some cases and all your PR status proof. it should'nt be a big deal though. Congrats on the baby, good luck.

Be aware that even though your PR card is valid until 2013, you still need to fulfill the residency requirements of living in Canada for 730 days (2 years total) during your first 5 years as a PR and after that 730 days in any 5 year period. If you don't do this, you will lose your PR status, even though your card still has not expired.

Hi,
My sincere advise to you is to look for a way to go and have dat baby in canada, first the baby wud carry a canadian passport, secondly, imagine d stress u wud go thru trying to take d baby back with u to canada.

Yeah the smartest thing to do is try to have the baby in Canda. You'll be better placed in anyway you try to look at it.

Please try to give birth to your baby in Canada. Less stress.

Thks abisola,i will do my best to get to canada b4 i give birth, maybe two months be4 am due.
