Alberta has longer wait times than BC. At least that is what the IRB representative told us when we had our ADR in August. You should have a contact person at the IRB ... I believe it is indicated in the letter they sent you. You can call this person to request an update. Or, get your consultant to call for you. That is their job.

Hi deeafahd,

Don't despair. Just because we had a rude VO doesn't mean you will too. I wish I had known then what I know now about the whole process. We would have been more prepared for the interview.

Don't expect the worst ... just be prepared for it if it happens OK.
can you tell me how would you prepare for the interview if you knew from beggining what you know now ?...pls tell me all what we should do to prove that our marriage is genuine and pass the interview...thx

I think I would have accompanied my wife to the interview. My consultant told me of a case where the VO indicated to the wife he was going to reject her. The husband insisted to speak to a supervisor and the VO reversed let her through.

In my case, the VO was absolutely rude to my wife. I don't think he would have done this had he known I was there. And if my wife came out and told me she was abused at the interview I would have DEMANDED to speak to a supervisor.

[size=10pt] I submitted a Notice of Appeal to Vancouver CIC March 5/16. I am a spousal sponsor.

How can I get them to confirm my notice to Appeal of their casual decision to exclude my wife? [ Please disregard this now because I phoned and received confirmation from Vancouver CIC ]

What is the success rate of hiring a Lawyer during the appeal hearing? I may be able to afford a Lawyer from Shenzhen to attend our hearing in Hong Kong.

[size=10pt]The Appeal hearings are always conducted from the applicant's local CIC?

My Appeal application is now shown in their system. Does anybody know what next can I expect from Vancouver CIC Appeals office?

your husband can't accompany you in the interview. He can only accompany you to the embassy. I would investigate this more before doing this. I am not 100% sure about how this is done.

If any other members have experience with this please let us know.

I agree, they do not let you into the interview. I too had accompanied my husband to his interview, but I had to wait outside while he was inside during the interview.

That is very exciting news...The long wait is over you are now about to start your new life in Canada with your family. News like this is a big encouragement to those still waiting.

Were you in the same building as your husband? Was there a receptionist or someone you could make a request to see a supervisor?
