It was the Hong Kong visa office, and I am in Toronto.

I am just looking to start gathering any additional information that might show that the VO did not rule by fact. I don't like that the VO did not consider any new documents my wife brought to the interview.

Hi hicks74,

it happened to my husband too. He brought new evidence and more pics of us to the interview. VO didnt even look at it all and at the end rejected. My husband asked what should i do with new evidence on what she had replied -whatever you like, you can take them with you or leave it here as it will be returned to you anyway( i guess she ment will be returned if we wont appeal) so he did leave all to her anyway. We felt the same, she knew from the start she will reject. She wouldnt even give him a chance to talk and answer her questions, she was answering her own questions!!!

Hi Lenchik and hicks74,

I had read in earlier posts that it is better to send them proves voluntarily before you have an interview because apparently they never see any documents you bring in during the interview. But of course if you only have couple of months in between why would you be sending proves, you would think once I go for the interview they will see it.

hhassa, they had more than enough proves prior to interview. whatever we brought for interview was just little addition to prove that it is ongoing relationship. VO made her decision prior it was obvious by the questions she asked and they way she behaved.

Hi there, it looks like I will be joining the group sadly. My wife's visa was rejected so I will likely appeal.

I have one question I have not seen answered yet and am curious about. The VO gave all of our proof back to my wife at the end of the interview. Is that normal?

My wife also told me the VO did not look at any of the documents my wife brought with her to the interview, which included some stuff after we applied. It almost seemed to me the VO had decided before the interview to reject my wife.

Thanks, and my heart goes out to everyone who is stuck in this mess trying to be with the people they love.

I am very sorry you have to go through all this! It was the same for my husband in Morocco. The VO did not look at the additional evidences he brought with him at the interview (later when we got prepared for the appeal, we were told we did not submit enough evidences). The first thing she said to him was: "I don't believe that once you are in Canada you will live with your wife".

She gave him back a couple of CD's of music I did for him, a few pictures and postcards and a book of poetry I had sent him. They keep the evidences so they can do photocopies of everything for the preparation of the blue book (if you decide to appeal you will receive every single item you submitted in your application in a blue cover).

Me too my heart goes out to everyone who is stuck in this nightmare including you. May you remain strong and have faith this ordeal will end eventually.

After how long did it take for you to get an interview call?

The full hearings in Vancouver are that of all day long I attended 5 of them. They are not limited to 3 hours as the link pages state re; appeals for sponsorship. I believe they used to be limited to 3 hours that became quite stressful to all involved. They are all day long with 3 breaks including lunch.

I think you may be incorrect. http://www.irb-cisr.gc.ca/Eng/ImmApp/Pages/IadSaiInnovation.aspx see Section 18, Stage III. It is very possible that the hearings you attended were more complex in nature. Based on the review of the file IRB decides how much time they will allow for each particular hearing.

Please don't be stressed and loose hope. Get you head straight and work towards it. Being mad and frustrated is not going to resolve anything. This is your loss not theirs and clearly they don't care. I know you are probably already doing it but try to find out the next step. Focus on issues they are picking on. I am no expert I am just like you but sometimes it helps if another person looks at your case. Come up with the list of issues and prepare reasoning with multiple proves. Please don't mind me saying anything.

Thanks

Hi hicks74 So sorry you will be joining us but here is a wealth of information and alot of support. ;) :D The Visa officer also did not look at the proofs of evidence since the wedding that they requested hubby to bring to his interview. I believe also the Visa officer had her mind made up before the interview started as well. Kept hubby there over 3 hours made hubby believe he was getting the visa and called him the next day and said no visa for you and said ha ha. Sick and disgusting. She was not nice at all with him at all right from the beginning. It was a joke. Not even a Canadian visa officer :(

The link you provided is from March 2006. I attended 5 hearings since the summer of 2013 right into fall. My lawyer even said they used to be about 3 hours long and it just was not enough time and therefore they have made them for all day long now. I am not sure of since when but this year for a full hearing it is all day long starting at 9am are the ones I attended. Some were complex ,some were not and all took all day long. Some ADR's( less informal hearings) are at 9 am also and last approximately 1 to 1.5 hours long. I am not lying so don't accuse me of doing so. I am not here to argue with you or anyone. I am here to help anyone I can. How about you?
