I found this poem thought It may lift some spirits and encourage some folks to keep the faith...its called Gods Flight

On the ground sits a bird
that's too afraid to fly.
Beautiful wings could make it soar,
but the pain of past failure is it's lonesome cry.

God has said unto this bird,
"Trust and have faith in me,
for I will carry you in your flight.
The miracle of life is waiting for you to see."

The bird said to God, "But I can't fly.
I am weak. I will fall and feel pain
It's happened before when I tried to fly.
I'm afraid of being hurt again."

His voice soft and reassuring, God said to the bird,
I created you, and I will protect you.
Your lonesome cry I have heard.
Have faith in me. That's all you need to do.

So, stand up, bird, and spread your wings.
The wings I lovingly created to let you fly.
If you fall I'll pick you up,
and lift you back into the sky."

With trembling legs and unsure wings
the bird finally looked to the sky.
It took a deep breath, and took the chance.
The bird began to fly.

"Thank you, God, for believing in me.
Thank you for giving me wings.
Thank you for your protecting hands.
Your glory I will now sing."

God smiled unto the bird
in its majestic flight.
"Little bird, I'll always be with you,
and will protect you with all my might.

You may stumble. You may fall.
That doesn't mean that I don't care.
I will watch over you, in case you need help,
and then I'll be right there."

The little bird, once so scared,
learned to soar to new heights.
The occasional fall no longer scared the bird,
choosing to have faith in Gods flight.

Hope you enjoyed this poem :D

Hi,
My brother got married in Punjab India last year Dec 25 2012. His wife just had an interview yesterday, and her permanent residence to Toronto Canada was refused. The interviewer asked her questions such as:

1) Why didn't your inlaws return to India after your marriage
2) Why didn't your husband come back after the marriage?

The answers to the questions were because her inlaws were currently working and could not take out vacation to visit.
Her spouse did not have access to a break from his work place.

Another question they asked was why wasn't she standing/hugging him in the pictures on the day of the marriage

They were really rude to her and told her to take her passport and go.

We are planning to file an appeal when the rejection letter comes, I was wondering how long does the appeal process take after we file an appeal with the lawyer. My brother has already waited a full year for her, and he is worried that he has to wait another few months.

If anyone can help out that'll be great.

Thanks

Hello Mr. SIngh

I am also sailing in same boat. I was refused in feb 2013 and filed appeal in march. And didn't get the hearing date yet. I am in Vanouver though. People say Vancouver is faster than Toronto. But I think its quite same... Good luck tour brother and he has stay strong enough. God bless

heard these immigration lawyers are charging a lot also. Just to compare, i reached out to a few to help with an out-land application as i was initially recommended to go via a lawyer. Went to a few, and got quotes from 3-4500 CAD. I did it myself for under 1000 (including postage, paper, photos, etc)
Yes, Immigration lawyers can be pricey for sure. I am very happy that I hired my lawyer though. He has helped me alot. I am going through chemo right now and noway could I do it all alone just now. To those that are, good for you and I wish you great success. :D ;)

I'm still at the beginning of the process, but reading other stories helps me learn more about what to expect and other evidence to include with our application. I posted a brief profile of my(our) relationship and goatlove was quite helpful.
Ahhh Yes, I see ok. Yes, definitely helps reading other stories here. This site and thread has been a God send for sure. I am very grateful and thankful to the people here for their experience and support. I will continue to come here after hubby is here to help in any way I can. You are in the right place here with all of us. :D Such a wealth of information here. :D I hope all goes well to a successful visa in hand for you. :D

This seems highly unlikely. Havana has an approval rating of 88% for spousal sponsorship, and the data available for 2013 (January to June) the approval rating in spousal sponsorship category is 94%
Yes, for 2013 maybe but 2012 not so much :'( Apparently on two different sites yes, the staff have been changed up there now due to alot of bogus denials by a couple of VOfficers and corruption going on there. Some staff were taking money bribes including a guard at the gate. :o This is recent news. I would like to think and hope this is not true of course. :(

I received my AOR ( Acknowledgement of Receipt) in August 2013 although my laywer submitted appeal case in April 2013 n then bluebook in the mid of September 2013 ... ahhhhhhhhhhh i dont know what hapens next :'(

Assalamu Alaykum

My ADR was in Vancouver as well as I live in Vancouver back in 2012, I was refused though at the ADR and I withdrew from the full hearing and now re-applied and waiting again, insha Allah soon this time. They called my lawyer 1 month after we received the GCMS notes, so you or your (lawyer if you have one) should be expecting a call for the ADR, soon insha Allah, than you will have to submit the documents to CIC and IRB 20 days before the ADR date.
