Allhumdolilah!!! i got my passport back with multiple visa for 20 months valid till my passport validity

time line
application submitted online on 09th june
biomatrics done on 10th of june at VAC isb
passport request 14th july
passport submitted 15th july
collected passport 22nd july today.

i hope this time line for help u guys and i personally advice u guys to submitted application online.its much quicker then paper application.

Dear qxoil,
congratulation. I applied paper based and 75 days passed still not get information about my passport return.
I also sent two emails to embassy that my traveling dates are coming very soon and accelerate my application.
I did not get any reply from them i sent them email last week and also send a reminder today morning.
What do you think? should i withdrawn my application to get my passport back immdiately?
My traveling dates are 04 August 2014?

hello there

I will be applying for Visitor's visa in canada anytime this week. I am A Filipino working as a nurse here in Riyadh for four years now.

I have the following questions. I was asking this questions in other forum/thread but I havent received any reply yet. I hope you can help me with this.

1. My husband is currently working in canada as a foreign worker and his working visa will be valid until august 2015. The thing is, his present employer is different from what is being written in his LMO and working permit. He is still processing for his new LMO from his new employer. I just want to ask if it is ok that He will be the one to give me the sponsor/invitation letter for my visit? Or, I will just ask my aunt who is already a resident in canada to give me the invitation letter? But, I am just worried that CIC will wonder why my husband is not the one who is sponsoring me when in fact he is in canada. I am planning though to submit two invitation letters, from my husband and from my aunt.

2. Regarding the proof of funds, would it matter or will CIC wonder if you have a very big amount of money in your bank account? I just applied for loan and was approved already. So, ill be getting significant amount in this case. Will the CIC question this one? Is it necessary also to show my bank account in my home country which is Philippines or my Saudi bank account is enough already.

3. I will be on vacation this August 15-Sept 9 going to Phil. So, I cannot submit my passport but I can provide the copies only. WIll it affect my application? My intended flight for canada will be on nov 17-dec 29, 2014

4. Which is better way to apply? Online or submitting your application on the embassy?

hi waqar 290 bhai,
thanks, well i applied online whats was the only reason that didnt want my passport stuck in the embassy for good three four months.the operation of canadian embassy in pakistan is bloody redickless. they shoudnot take more then 46 days as they monthin in their website.
i have seen a welknown personallity of pakistan media was getting mad on vac staff. he applied well time advance and wanted to travel canada to collect his performance award but his passport is stuck in the embassy from last two and half months... really bad service being provided by the canadian embassy in isb.
wel have not choose other then withraw ur application if u travel is really important and u cant change the dates...
decision is urs ur all efects and money which u have paid in fees will go the toilet unfortunatley

My mom applied for visitor visa on 22 May 2014 at VAC Lahore in person which is paper based application and still waiting for a response from the Canadian Embassy ISB. Please stay in touch and post your updates regulary. Also my friend's parent applied for visitor visa on the same day and they are waiting as well. My mom's online VAC staus shows this:

"Your processed passport has been forwarded to the Canada Visa Offlice, ISLAMABAD on 23/05/2014"

What have you decided regarding your application since your passport is stuck since May 08, 2014? I have a situation where my mom needs her passport shortly to send for Hajj visa as she is planning to go Aug 28, 2014. Can you please share how long would the canadian Embassy take IF she decides to withdraw her application and ask for the passport back? Anyone please help answering the last question regarding geting the passport back OR how to put an pplication on hold until they ask for the passport in case of her visa gets approved?

The only type of applicants that DO NOT require medicals from Pakistan are visitors who get a regular trv.

All other types, PRs, students, workers, even children of workers who get trvs (but valid for as long as workers are there), super visa applicants (again another type of trv valid for longer periods) REQUIRE medicals.

and yes it needs sample of urine analysis that you give at IOM live i.e. you cannot bring that from home. Generally there are 3 main things. A chest x ray (with shirt off), blood test and urine test (in addition to physical examination of body and height, eye sight and weight). So one should wear appropriate undergarments.

Only kids under 5 are exempted from urine and xray. Children over 5 but under 14 give urine samples, but don't undergo xrays.

Thank you very much for your comments. Last week i sent an email to embassy and request them if they can accelerate my application process as i planned to travel to USA. I also mentioned these dates on my covering letter today I received ans sms from VAC Lahore to collect the passport from VAC. So i collected and got 4 years multiple entries visa for Canada.

I advise you to please do not withdrawn your application and wait 10 more days i am quite sure you will get your mom's passport back.
I sent an email to embassy last and request them to accelerate my application process as i need to travel to USA for business purposes.
You can also send them as email and tell them about your urgency.

Thanks. I thought this is done at any designated doctor rather than IOM. I remember we went to IOM only for visa processing and doctor was in a different place.

You are most welcome. Until a few years ago, there were many designated medical practitioner's listed on CIC website from where you could get medicals done. That no longer is the case since i believe at least late 2012.

However, they occasionally might require you to get tests done / take opinion from doctors outside the IOM for things they don't have experts on. For e.g. i was given a sealed envelope and form and had to get a specialist's opinion from AKUH karachi and submit the same back in sealed form at IOM for one of my family members.

And i am surprised since to my knowledge IOM has nothing to do with visa processing. All they do is perform medicals and upload report in the person's profile.

Even the CIC's designated medical supervisors sit in India - who evaluate the uploaded report from IOM, give their feedback and finally then CIC Islamabad proceeds with their process. I know this because the further evaluation note came from "Medical health officer CIC Delhi India" for my case by ordinary post and was pretty delayed and annoying.

Applied on 08 May 2014
Passport Received on 24 July 2014.

I also received all of my documents back with my passport which i submitted with my application as supporting.

Congratulation I am happy for you that finally you got the passport after 77 days with a good news. Thanks for the sharing /sugesstion and i will wait for another 10 days and hopefully my mom will get her passport back. I will post updates in the meantime.
