I really don't understand why on earth people from our country are dying to defame the name of nation and are willing to do any and every illegal thing to get out of the country.

Out of utmost sincerity, the suggestion given to you is pathetic in every way, even if we only consider better opportunities for you and your family and completely ignore the moral aspect for a while.

The most decent way perhaps is to apply through FSW or another standard immigration program which awards points based upon your qualifications, age, experience, earning power, language proficiency etc. It takes a couple years to process but provides you with permanent residence status and the opportunity to start over a new life. Apply now, and while application is in process, save some money so you can be comfortable when you go there and look for a job after getting PR.

The other and relatively faster option is quite rare and occasional in which if you are able to find an employer in Canada who wants to recruit you, gives you a job offer and apply for LMO on your behalf. Then you can apply for temp work permit and the process takes any where between a few months to may be a year max. But you would have a confirmed job this way before actually landing there. At any rate, temp work permit for a limited period of time and you need to get PR from being in side Canada again in order to continue living there. Also temp work permit is generally closed i.e. tied to the specific employer only and you cannot even switch employer on the same work permit / visa.

Regarding whether to use government passport or private, i am not really sure. Generally they ask for information regarding if you have held any government position or otherwise and there might be additional clearances required. Though i haven't seen any advantage of using a government passport, the question still remains which one are you technically eligible of. Just use that and it would be easier for you over all.

Hello Dear Friends,

I am Tahir from Pakistan working in Government Organization and I have a wife with one month old infant baby.

I want to settle down in Canada and I could not be able to find a right path to achieve this. Someone has suggested me to obtain visit visa for both me and my wife(included baby) and go there and claim refugee claim or anything like that. And one more question is that should I apply for passport mentioned clearly that I am a government servant or should I opt for private passport which is common and issued to non-government job holders.

Please help me is this a safe way? or how many percentage chances are successful?

Please take out your precious time and answer my queries I would pray for your life and health. I would appreciate if more and more replies from different people could answer so that it can gives me more depth look into matter.

Regards.

Thank you waqar.ahmad

I would like to ask few more questions:

a. Should I apply FSW by myself or through some legal expert? if legal expert can you recommend me anyone?

b. I am afraid of test/interview for accountancy. I mean what they will probably ask or what kind of exam they take. I dont know about this. Can anyone share their experience with me.

c. How have you reached there?

Please guide me.

Regards,

Tahir

They won't test you on your knowledge of accounting but you will have to get a Educational Credential Assessment. If you have a Masters, why are you so worried?

I'm happy to see that there are a lot of ppl who are helping each other.

I'm also here to ask few questions. I got married in April this year. I came back recently, now I want to sponsor my husband. I talked to one of the agent and he gave me the list of required documents, my husband almost got all the documents and that agent told me that he will give me a form to done a medical exam for my husband but for some reason he has not contact me back. One of my friend told me that you don't need any form, "you can just tell your husband to book an appointment and get a medical done." I want to ask if he needs a form for medical test or not? If yes than from where I can get that form?

Oh.. I have just realized, I posted on a wrong section. I have few questions for visiting visa also.

After applying for sponsorship I wanted to apply for visitor visa within next month. I'm expecting, my due date is on April and I want my husband to be here with me at that time. I was working in Canada until Oct, 2012, after that I went Pakistan and came back few weeks before. So I haven't work in 2013 at all, now in my situation what should I do? How much amount do I have to show in my account? I was also not a full time worker, when I was working. I'm living with my parents here, so my name is not in a lease. How can I prove my residency here in Canada?

You must have had a PR / citizenship card that would serve as evidence of you being there. In general for people applying for work permit / visit visas, they receive a medical form for instructions. But many people also do upfront medicals which only has the disadvantage that if refused, the fee is lost. Upfront medicals do not require you to bring any forms and can be arranged by calling IOM and scheduling appointments. You tell them i am doing upfront and they would tell you the mode of submission. I have known at least 2-3 people who actually did upfront medicals and got them through as well.

This thread would be useful http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/medical-report-form-imm-1017-t146675.0.html

Please do know that it is HIGHLY likely that your spouse's trv not be approved. Being there on spousal maternity needs is not accepted as a valid reason in general by VO. Normally visit visa request is seen as a means to by pass the 2+ years processing time of spousal sponsorship. So unless your husband shows very firm grounds in Pakistan to return i.e. job, property, dependents, finance as well. They are likely to refuse a purpose of visit "Visiting spouse while they are expecting a child". There are exceptions of course and even at times people apply for "open work permits" for spouse instead. But that also puts narrow conditions on sponsor such as having worked in a skilled job etc. I don't know that part time work (even if skilled) qualifies for that or not, since you mentioned you have NOT been working in 2013 as well.

All the best.

Thanks Zafar,

I would like to ask following questions:

a. Suppose I would apply in FSW program for Accountant (General) category and subsequently I am allowed to enter in Canada on that visa. Is it mandatory for me to work only for that post i.e. Accountant or I am allow to work any job. Please guide me.

b. I am worried about the back university knowledge type of assessment since I have done Masters in 2009 so I have lost grip on so many topics. I hope you can understand. Thats why I am asking about this.

Looking forward to you,

Tahir

Hi guys,

I was wondering if any of you can help me out here....

I applied for my husband's PR in June 2013... And now I would like to apply for a Visit Visa for him... Btw I'm sponsoring him from Afghanistan.... He does have a decent travel history and also has a decent job.

I checked with my lawyer and he was saying that my husband should go to the visa office in Islamabad and apply.... Has anyone done that or is everybody applying online?

There is a good deal of information on cic website for islamabad regarding applicants from Afghanistan i.e. they specifically mentioned Afghan national and in some places like checklist etc. asked for one or two additional docs for them.

Whether they apply online or in person at VAC, their applications are processed through Visa office in Islamabad. Just that online application is a little faster because of saved time to scan and upload docs to create a file. Also you will have to separately go to SCB for making payments for visa application. All of this can be done otherwise. But please understand that in both cases it is still the same designated visa office which does the processing.
