Problem with travelers' Cheque is, it will be done in USD and you loose twice, from BDT to USD and then USD to CAD.
You also require commuting time/ energy to go to bank and deposit to en cash. You can En cash from any post office with a commission though.
The best seems BDT to directly CAD and u start spending directly from Pearsons Airport from day one............................. ;D

i gained few bucks when i converted my USD to CAD, but now it's equal. so in bangladesh if USD has a better rate, you guys can bring usd

Dear Forum Mates,
I have done my Medical yesterday. They have not required any photo but picked digital photo. I'm planning to make RPRF tomorrow. Now tell me what and how to send it. The visa office asked me for only -MR & RPRF. Thats all. But do I need to send any photos, or passport copy? or only the bank pay order? and I need to send it by courier (Like DHL/T&T)?

Step-1: Go to Standard Chartered Bank to issue the RPRF DD of CA$ 490 per adult. If you are single, then it is CA$ 490. If you have a wife, then it is CA$ 980. Children do not require any RPRF.

Step-2: Since, they have not asked for anything else, so just send the RPRF DD to Singapore Visa Office. Try to use DHL/TNT that will deliver in 2 days.

You have mentioned that they have not asked for anything else. So, you are set to send the RPRF only.

About 3-6 months from now, Inshallah, you will receive:
* Passport submission letter --> where they will state to submit your passport
* Form Appendix-A
* 4 passport-sized pictures of each applicant
from Singapore Visa Office, which you have to send using VFS Bangladesh.

স্পন্সর করে বাবা-মাকে কানাডায় আনা কঠিন হয়ে গেলো

স্পন্সর করে বাবা-মাকে কানাডায় নিয়ে আসার আবেদনের স্থগিতাদেশ উঠে যাচ্ছে। আগামী ১ জানুয়ারি ২০১৪ সাল থেকে নতুন করে আবেদনপত্র নেওয়া হবে। ‘আগে আসলে আগে পাবেন ভিত্তিতে’ প্রতি বছর মাত্র ৫ শত নতুন আবেদনপত্র গ্রহন করা হবে। তবে স্পন্সর করার নীতিমালা আরো কঠোর করা হবে।

কানাডার ইমিগ্রেশন অ্যান্ড সিটিজেনশীপ মন্ত্রী জেসন ক্যানি এক সংবাদ সম্মেলনে সরকারের এই সিদ্ধান্তের কথা ঘোষনা করেছেন।

ইমিগ্রেশন মন্ত্রী বলেছেন, দীর্ঘ সময়ের জন্য অস্থায়ীভাবে বাবা-মাকে কানাডায় নিয়ে আসার নতুন পদ্ধতি ‘সুপারভিসা’ স্থায়ী রুপ পাচ্ছে।

উল্লেখ্য, বিপুল পরিমান অনিষ্পন্ন আবেদনপত্র জমা হওয়ার পরিপ্রেক্ষিতে সরকার দুই বছরের জন্য স্পন্সর করে বাবা –মাকে আনার আবেদনপত্র গ্রহন স্থগিত করে দিয়েছিলো।২০১১ সালের সেম্টেম্বরে স্পন্সরশীপ আবেদন স্থগিত করার সময় প্রায় ১ লাখ ৬৫ হাজার আবেদনপত্র নিষ্পত্তির অপেক্ষায় ছিলো। প্রতিটি আবেদনপত্র নিষ্পত্তির জন্য অপেক্ষমান সময় ছিলো আট বছর।আগামী ১ জানুয়ারি নাগাদ এই সময় সাড়ে তিন বছরে নেমে আসবে বলে আশা করছে সংশ্লিষ্ট মন্ত্রণালয়। অর্থাৎ জানুয়ারি মাসে যারা বাবা-মাকে স্পন্সর করার জন্য আবেদন করবেন তাদের অন্তত সাড়ে তিন বছর অপেক্ষা করতে হবে সরকারের সিদ্ধান্ত জানার জন্য।

তবে যারা বাবা-মাকে স্পন্সর করে স্থায়ীভাবে কানাডায় নিয়ে আসতে চান,তাদের কঠোর নীতিমালার সম্মুখীন হতে হবে। বাবা-মাকে স্পন্সর করার জন্য আবেদনকারীর বার্ষিক আয়ের পরিমান বর্তমানের চেয়ে ৩০ শতাংশ বেশি থাকতে হবে। অর্থ্যাৎ, স্বামী-স্ত্রীসহ চারজনের একটি পরিবারে বাবা-মাকে স্পন্সর করার জন্য ওই পরিবারের বার্ষিক ৫৫ হাজার ডলার আয় থাকতে হবে। বর্তমানে স্পন্সর করার পর আবেদনকারীকে বাবা-মার ১০ বছরের আর্থিক দায়িত্ব নিতে হয়। সেটি বাড়িয়ে ২০ বছর করা হয়েছে।

আগের নিয়মে বাবা- মাকে সপন্সর করার সময় তার (বাবা-মার) উপর নির্ভরশীল ২২ বছর বা ততোর্ধ বয়সী অপরাপর সন্তানদেরও সপন্সর করা যেতো যদি তারা বাবা-মারউপর নির্ভরশীল থাকেন এবং স্কুলে পড়াশুনায় নিয়োজিত থাকেন। এই নিয়মটি পরিবর্তন করে কেবলমাত্র ১৮ বছরের কম বয়সী নির্ভরশীলদের স্পন্সরশীপের আওতায় রাখা হয়েছে। আঠারো বছর বা ততোর্ধদের আলাদাভাবে অভিবাসনের জন্য আবেদন করতে হবে।

এদিকে সরকারের নতুন এই নীতিমালা নিয়ে তীব্র প্রতিক্রিয়া তৈরি হয়েছে। স্পন্সর করার জন্য বার্ষিক আয়ের পরিমান বাড়িয়ে দেওয়ায় কেবলমাত্র উচ্চবিত্তদের জন্যই এই সুবিধাটি উন্মুক্ত রাখা হয়েছে বলে সমালোচনা হচ্ছে।

But still no worries. Just simply apply for Multiple entry tourist visa. with your 20 lacs in their account. Though you have to have some relative over there to invite them and certify their living assurance. On 1st application, they will have 1 year multiple entry (Max 6 months stay permitted). On the 2nd apply, they will avail 5 years multiple entry. Its easy for senior members. The other bypass is, encourage them to have USA visit visa. (USA give visa to senior member without any question even asked, they look at the Canada visa and their account balance) If they have it, they can go to USA by road and re-enter Canada and again they have 6 months stay permit. Bit expensive but possible.

And I believe like my parents, most of the parents don't like to be abroad more than 6 months at a stretch. They become bored and come up with so many peculiar excuses......................Cheers and.............
