Dear Seniors,
EID MUBARAK to all of you. I hope that our next EID will be in Canada. I have a few questions to respected member of this forum and will be very glad if you can answer my query.
My status has been IN PROCESS since 18th of July, 2012. For the grace of Allah, recently I have awarded a PhD scholarship. I have already left my job because I have to move there in September.
Question No 1: If now the “official verification” came from CIC, they won't able to find me because I am on a study leave. Is this a problem for me? Yes. It's a problem. But it's not likely to happen. It doesn't happen often. So, inform them about address change through case specific enquiry
Question No 2: Should I only inform CIC about my new address in the UK or I have to give them detail information like my scholarship, study leave certificate etc. Inform them about new address in UK and tell them ur a student there. If you want you can attach the copy of student visa of UK in ur case specific enquiry. But it's not needed, only address change has to be mentioned. Nothing else.
Question No 3 : Can any of you please tell me in detail about the minimum stay in Canada after PR and entry time after granting the visa? Initial entry visa is a one time entry visa and it is valid for 1 year starting from the date of MR letter issuance. Note it is 1 year from MR issue date and not 1 year from the date of medicals done. This is your original validity of first time entry to Canada. After you make your first entry, your PR becomes 'permanent'. Later on to hold this permanent resident status you have obligations. That is: two years of "residency days" must be accumulated in every five-year period. Residency days need not be consecutive.
Thanks in advance for your response and wish you a glorious EID with your friends and family.
