Anyone familiar about the CAIPS NOTES issued after visa refusal? I was advised to file one for CAD 2500 but i think this is too much just to determine the real reason for denial.
I just got my refusal letter today,


• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.

I applied for a student Visa - SDS

The CAPIS is the old system, and no long in use.

If you want to know the reasons of refusal, you need to get the GCMS notes.

I just realized that I had changed my NOC post ITA to 2173 from 2174. Re-reading the job duties it feels like 2174 was the right choice. What should I do? I ordered notes last week.

First off, wait and see what your GCMS notes say. You can request the change the NOC you opted, but it is at the discretion of the officer

No, requesting GCMS notes is your right. However, you shoals wait at least 70-90 days before requesting GCMS post AoR.

You can request GCMS notes as many times as you like and it has no impact on the processing of your application.

I have used the site getgcms.com made the payment but I haven't received the prefilled form . It's been two days and I'm still waiting . Why is this happening !!?
Please inform your team and let me know why this delay is happening .

Just some additional information:

I have checked the act, which corresponds to Safety of Individuals (unless I am wrong) as follows:
17) The head of a government institution may refuse to disclose any record requested under this Act that contains information the disclosure of which could reasonably be expected to threaten the safety of individuals.

I was previously received an ADR on 8 March 2019, wherein I was requested to provide Military Records Table. I have provided the same table and on the notes it is stated that the table has been received and reviewed. It is that page of the notes, which contains s.17 in addition to s15(1)

I am oct 24th aor.
my eligibility is Met i think since december (as per calls the calls i made to ircc since jan)
criminality and security haven't begun.
I requested GCMS notes on 20th June after being very patient and not receiving any update even after 8 months.
Last when i called them 2 days ago, they simply denied giving me any status update, they just said the documents you provided are being reviewed (i think it is a generic response when they don't want to give away any information) and that i must not call them, they will connect with me in case they need something or if there is an update.
i am really tensed about this now as its been over 8 months and there is no update yet nor any information.
If you can predict or provide any information from this status then that will be really helpful to me.

No need to to worry. If your security has not started then that means that your eligibility has not yet been passed. the eligibility takes place in 2 stages, first an analyst will review and make a recommendation. Then this recommendation is reviewed by an officer and a final decision on eligibility is made.

Most applications are study and are pending an officer's approval.

However, wait for your GCMS notes, and that will make things clear.

@legalfalcon got my gcms notes from get gcms. I dont know why they were trying to assess my work experience for 2 years. I claimed points for only 1 year. They gave me the fsw points of 67 but not the crs for 1 year. As I know mimimum is 1 year of exp but analyst wrote he is able to confirm 1.2 years of work ex out of necessary 2 years. Review required... please advice

Does it mean the application is going through a secondary security check or it's going through security screening ? Or just normal security check started?

I have the same question. In my gcms notes, I seem to have cleared eligibility, but I am stuck on security since Feb'19. Its a joint application by my wife and I, and I have a security response which is apparently restricted under 15.1 of Information Act. I would love to know if anybody has been stuck in security for so long before, and what their experience is. I am AOR Sep'18.
